Late EMH getting shorter?

Hi all! First post here. :)

We go to WDW approximately every 2 years - last time we were there in Apr 2015, the grown ups went to late EMH at MK while kiddos slept FROM ABOUT MIDNIGHT TO 3 am two times during the trip. It was fantastic! We just returned two days ago and there was only one late EMH from midnight to two AM on Wednesday. We didn't go and I'm sorta bummed about it.. we had jam packed days and everyone but me was exhausted. We were at BLT so I could've walked alone but didn't... any how when I look ahead in the coming months it seems like the LATEST EMH is now 1 am! Are they getting shorter and shorter? If so, why?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, sadly what used to be 3 hours of evening EMH has been reduced to a standard 2 hours across the board. Morning EMHs are still 1 hour. Whether the parks stay open to 1 am or 3 am depends on the closing time of the park, which depends on what time of year you're traveling/how busy the parks are. So in peak season when MK closes at say midnight, the park will only be open til 2am. In offseason, it could be scheduled to close as early as 10pm...leading to midnight. (Sometimes park hours get extended the day of, so keep an ear out for that!)

Makes me even sadder that I didn't go last Wed... even by myself... And this is not helping with my WDW withdrawal on this first Monday back at work!! Sigh... I wonder if I'll ever get to be at MK at 2 am again!

Gave you your 2nd "like"... Every time we return home I go over my finished Disney trip plans and I find things I regretted not doing, or I think Hey, I could have done this, what was I thinking? Makes you a little bit wiser the next time and gives you incentive to start planning for the next trip.

The hours are getting shorter and shorter! We go for at least 2 weeks in Oct each year and we have noticed the changes, and we are now down to only 2 evening EMH a week, with DHS being removed, we are left with one at MK (til 11)and one at Epcot (til 11) and no other late nights at MK even though 4 out of 7 nights are MNSSHP!
I do find it funny how Animal Kingdom is open til 9 on 30 Sep but goes down to 7 as of 1 Oct!
But at least we are there long enough to do everything we want.

It's quite simple - Shorter hours = less expense for Disney. It's certainly not to give the customer any additional value.
