ok Im looking for help and advice
My company is sending me down to orlando and I habe no limit on the budget
I received one of those postcards and since several of the mmetinggs are at WDW they said see what you can get
My mom is gonna tag along
so do we use my postcard and cash in on a great rate at beach club or Wilderness lodge in even the contemporary
this way we can do transfers from the airport and wont need a car
or should we use my moms timeshare and stay outta the park and rent a car
my mom wants to stay somewhere theres a great pool so that im working she can hang out
which way do you think will be cheaper
I saw a marriot on her II site 500 for a week
well I can get WL for 600 so wed save 100 but if i stay outta teh park i have to rent a car
i have never had to plan such a last minute trip so quickly and I have never been away form my husbad and 2 kids so im kinda nervous but its work
any advice would be helpful

thanks

You're at a Disney website! Of course we are going to say stay on property!!! But in all seriousness, you are sitting on a great deal. NoI'm a bit confused though. You said you have no budget, but are wondering what would be cheapest. Is it that you have to pay for your own hotel? If so, what kind of discounts do you have?

Answering your question, I think AKL is the best resort, but since you didn't mention that on your list, I will continue. (Just felt the need to plug the resort)

Wildnerness Lodge is a beautiful resort, and the pool is amazing. When you are at the pool and look up at the majestic resort as you swim, it takes your breath away. There is also the lake, so no matter where you look, it is beautiful.

I would also rent a car if you are going to be there a whole week. It's possible while you are at a meeting, your mom might want to explore the city.

Have a great trip!

When are you going? If you are really looking to get a discount (and from what I gather, not visit the parks very much but stay at the resort... you aren't purchasing tickets, right?) I would suggest looking on Expedia. They give great deals on hotel and car rental, and they offer pretty good deals on WDW resorts.

More Details

I am a great proponent for staying in the park. Especially if your work is on Disney property, both you and your Mom can get around to whereever you want. AKL as suggested is lovely, my preferences are for Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge.

With your comments about moderate pricing and a good pool, look at Port Orleans Riverside (many here like it a lot)

Look on the WDW site and you can get estimates of prices, also a brief description of the properties. For better pictures visit www.allearsnet.com and peruse the various sites. You should have decent availability as we're going out of the tourist push. Also check that site for a good idea as to the variety of meals.

To easy your concerns of venturing out on your own, I suggest you contact Pam at Kingdom Konsultants (advertizes on this website - see main page). She can work the numbers for you, let you know of packages available, and wrap up all the details for you. Also it would be easier for you to have a sedan service to take you to and from the property, not being familiar with the layout. Pam can help you there as well.

If you can provide some more detail on dates, length of time, where you will be working, dining/entertainment preferences, there are tons of folks here that will be more than happy offering suggestions.

One word of caution however, we are fairly opinionated and have varying tastes, so we may get you more confused. It may also be worth your while to pick up one of the tour books for a quick reference. Possibly one tailored to adult trips to Disney.

Don't sweat it, we'll take good care of you.

Go for a disney resort!

Hey!
I just got back from my trip to disney, only 3 days ago. I would definatly recommend the wilderness lodge. We had great service there and they even upgraded us to a better room! The pool was real nice too although i didn't swim in it, but i did have a viw from my room.

I would say stay onsite....of course. If your mom is looking for some quality pool time then there is no better place than the Beach Club. The Yacht and Beach Club have Stormalong Bay, a three acre pool area. It is more like a mini-waterpark. There is also a few quiet pools that are available.

The Beach Club is also within walking distance of the Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin Resorts. She won't get bored. AND...it is also the closest resort to Epcot--a short 5-10 minute walk.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Good choice with the Beach Club! Great location, right near Epcot. The pool is awesome, the best resort pool on Disney property IMO.

Wherever you stay, though, HAVE FUN!!
