Last minute trip for May

We have been looking at our calendar and the only time we have for vacation this year until September is May 17-24. Can anyone give me an idea on crowds during this week. We have always gone in off peak times except for a few days last year the second weekend in August. We were in Orlando for a conference and knew it would be crowded. How will this week in May compare to August?

Any help is appreciated. By the way, there are 5 of us. 2 adults, 11 year old, and two 8 year olds.

Shouldn't be to bad. I'm a annual pass holder in Florida and the past couple times I've gone ( once or twice a month since January ) it hasn't been to bad since Spring Break ended. You still have long waits for your major attractions of course but walking through the park its not shoulder to shoulder people traffic. August will be much worse crowd and weather wise then it is now. It was almost 90 degrees down here today already.

May is always better than August. You may encounter local school groups, there are usually a bunch there that time of year. But they have never been a problem for us.

We're going May18-29, so we'll be there with you and our research shows it shouldn't be too bad the early part of the week but will get busy MD weekend and MK is open for 24 hrs on Fri 23-Sat24th. Plus Star Wars weekends at HS will draw a large crowd also. We always go in August but tend to hit hurricanes so we switched to May for better weather. Have fun!
