Last minute tips?

Well, I leave for the world tomorrow morn at 3 a.m. My girlfriend and myself will be staying at AKL Jambo House in a Savannah view room for the first time.
We made a list of things we have yet to accomplish and want to do this time.

Does anyone have any tips for stuff to do or look out for at AKL? Or just anything anyone wants a picture of? Just tell me something you want us to do ! We plan at eating at Pecos Bill for the first time.. Somehow in my 25 plus visits I have always managed to miss this place.

One final question. Does anyone have any knowledge to wether or not RnRC will open as expected on the 20th?

Thanks

AKL is a great place. If you aren't too tired, take some time to sit out on the savanna late night and enjoy the atmosphere. They often have a fire pit going with rocking chairs which is a nice touch. Enjoy your trip!

I'm SO jealous! That's where we stayed last year on our honeymoon. Definitely take advantage of the Lodge in the evenings when you return from your long days at the parks. The night vision animal viewing is amazing. One night we got really lucky and the sprinklers happened to come on and the giraffes hated getting wet so they all ran forward right up to the fence where we were standing. We could practically touch them if we'd wanted. Also sit around the fire or go out onto one of the overlook balconies and just sit in the rocking chairs and enjoy the peaceful nights. Animals Kingdom Lodge is my favorite resort and you're going to have a fantastic time!!

At the giraffe area (can't remember the exact name of that savanna) they have night vision viewing goggles available until 11:00 pm at night. You can go up and use them to look at the animals in the dark. It's awesome!!As I said we got really lucky and a large group of giraffe ran right up to the fence one night. There will be information about it in your room. We did it nearly every night....at least the nights we got back to the lodge by 11.

I also just read that the pool is open 24 hours, This has to be INCORRECT?
Can anyone confirm it is incorrect.
WDWMAGIC says that it is closed at midnight, but the previous site I was on said 24 hours. I highly doubt it is 24 hours, but if someone could confirm that would be great!

This is from All Ears
The Uzima pool is open 24 hours, but the lifeguards go off duty at 10:00 PM and the slide also closes. The two spas close at midnight.

No you read it correctly. The lifegaurds go off duty, but the pool stays open. We had a room right over the pool and there were many times I saw people swimming at 1 or 2 a.m.

It's probably too late to book it now but it doesn't hurt to ask if they have availability for the waynama sunset safari (if it's in your budget) It's available only to AKL guests and was one of my top experiences at the world. A lavish dinner at Jiko is included and it's a once in a lifetime kind of thing.....Got amazing pictures of the animals and the guides were very informative.
