Last minute booking

My husband and I are planning a vacation to Disney World with our 3 boys in March. We plan to pay for the vacation with income tax which could end up being last minute. My question is how much do prices skyrocket booking so late, or are they cheaper because Disney just wants to fill rooms? Or are there every last minute discounts?

March through May is one of the highest price times to visit WDW because of the Easter holiday/Spring/Flower and Garden Fest/Spring Break.

Hi Courtney, It isnt so much of a question of prices skyrocketing, but there is a discount offer available now for your planned travel dates. The discount will not be available in March as it would have already expired, so you would be paying full price. There is also the question of availability for that time frame as well, as mouse_luv pointed out this is a very popular time to visit as it is Spring Break for many during that time frame. If you book a package now, the final payment will not be due until 30 days prior to your arrival. There is a deposit amount due of $200.00 for the land based package. Airfare and Trip insurance would both be due to pay in full at the time they are purchased so you may need to hold off on those, if they are needed at all. I hope this is helpful! Marie

As @wannabeBelle indicated, prices shouldn't skyrocket. As far as WDW prices themselves, they are published in advance, and won't go up from those published rates. Airfare may go up, but WDW hotel and tickets won't. Offsite hotels may go up, along with rental cars.

You can make your booking now to lock in prices based on either rack rate (if no discount is available) or using any discount (if available) and pay the deposit, and then cancel based on the cancellation policies if needed.

Sometimes they will make rooms available on Expedia or similar sites at a discount, but that's not guaranteed.

Check to see how much they'd charge you if you booked now. They don't always make you pay all upfront. I've done it multiple ways, but when I think about it I did it 7 months out and already had park tickets. Not sure if that changes things. To maximize your trip if you have to pay at once just reschedule to the fall

I would follow the rest by saying book now and make sure it is paid off 30 days prior to your trip.

I know others have said that there are no "skyrocketing" prices but I will add that WDW has seen ticket price increased in 02/2014, 02/2015, and 02/2016. I would expect another increase in 02/2017. If you book a package now you will not have to worry about an increase later.
