Last minute birthday trip planned...HELP!

I just got done planning a surprise 50th birthday trip for my DH to DLR on January 21st. We're staying at a good neighbor hotel, and I was wondering if anybody had some ideas for special birthday things in the park for my guy. He is a HUGE Tigger fan (as am I ), and a lot of the birthday packages that can be sent to the hotels are geared for the little ones and don't include Tigger in the mix.

I would like to do something special, but I don't quite know what more I can do besides dinner at our favorite place in NOS (French Market Cafe) for his cajun meatloaf. He's not a foodie, so a nice dinner isn't going to necessarily impress him.

Any ideas for some fun/interesting birthday stuff at the parks would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for any helpful hints you can pass my way!

There is always the free birthday buttons in City Hall. They are fun because cast members usually wish you a happy birthday.

There is special birthday dining at the resort if you call ahead and special cakes can be made too.

Congrats on planning the surprise! It should be a blast. Are you staying at the Anabella again? Do you think he would enjoy a tour? We have done the Walk in Walt's Footsteps, Cultivating the Magic, and the California Story at DCA and we have enjoyed all of them.

We're staying at The Carousel Inn & Suites this time around. I couldn't pass up the deal I saw on expedia.com for the hotel and flight. That's why it's so last minute...LOL! Besides...I've been jealous of all of the DLR time you've had lately @ajrwdwgirl !! No more living vicariously through your adventures...hehe!

I'll look into the Walk in Walt's Footsteps. I think my DH would enjoy the history of it all.

Not sure if the same is true at Disneyland , but if a dining location knows in advance it will often surprise you with a little celebratory treat.

This has happened several times in the past at WDW when I have dined with a friend who was celebrating a birthday.
Everything from festive free cupcakes to tables strewn with Mickey head confetti, to a all out singalong in a native language with traditional instruments.
A CM was even waiting for her outside of our Resort hotel waiting for her upon check in...with a birthday button and greeting in hand when we arrived.
I just let them know in advance when making reservations that I was with someone celebrating a Birthday.

Of course at DLR, you typically don't need to reserve seating like you have to at WDW, but it would'nt hurt to whisper something to the CM who seats you about it being a birthday.
I am sure they will surprise you with something fun or yummy!

I've already notified the hotel about the festivities, but I'm not sure about what they're going to do for him yet. A little more communication is in need for that.

I already know that he's going to want to eat at the French Market Cafe for his cajun meatloaf for the birthday meal, but that's a quick service type of place so I don't know what they would be able to do.

Has anybody ever worked with the Disney Dream Makers for a celebration? I'm guessing they're pretty spendy.

The California Adventure tour had a lot of history to it as well. We also got to go into the 1901 lounge that is for Club 33, and spent a lot of time in there (no pictures allowed though). Now I'm jealous of your trip!

Does anyone know if any restaurant is currently offering the dessert buffet/reserved seating for the parade or fireworks? That could be a nice treat.
