well a lot of that depends on your schedule and timing. If you are into eating breakfast in the parks, I am leaning towards Donald's Prehistoric Breakfast in the AK. Very cute and good adult and child interaction. Also good for a pic of the Duck and you dont see his tailfeathers everywhere!! As far as in one of the resorts, Id recommend Chef Mickey's. My friend and her hubby go there all the time with thier son ad they love it. Large selection of items, and great service. Either one should be OK to getseating for but Id advise that you make sure to call for PS arrangements!! Have a great time!!

Definitely get a PS. Plus the earlier in the day you book it for the easier it is going to be for the CMs to arrange the seating.
Its easier for CMs to reserve one large table / several smaller tables together at the start of the day than it is to wait for numerous guests on adjoining tables to finish at the same time.

Well I have to disagree and NOT recommend the Animal Kingdom breakfast at Restaurantasaurus. I told my story on another post about character breakfasts, so I won't go on again here, but suffice it to say :IT SUCKS! Avoid it at all costs!
Secondly, I'd say Chef Mickey's is great, as is O'hana's at the Polynesian. Hollywood and Vine and the Studios is great as well!
Seating. Well, let me ask you this: Are you all going to be paying with one check? A party of 18 with seperate checks is going to be a nightmare for the poor server. How about you let the CM know the individual parties and get seperate PSings. Then when you get there just all check in together and let the CM know you would like seperate tables near each other. They very often have whole sections empty in the early part of the morning (say before 8) and should have no problem accomodating you.
