Ladies: What do you find more manageable for the parks? Short or Long hair?

I currently have a bit of a hair dilemma for my July trip.

Right now I can put the majority of my hair in a pony tail but not my bangs.
My bangs are in the awkward stage of down to my nose but not long enough for a pony tail, half pony tail, or even stay put behind my ears.
I have been growing them out since Christmas and with 7 weeks til my trip I'm not confident in them growing enough.

If I leave my hair as is all I can do is hope they grow long enough to tuck behind my ears or wear a headband that would then mean I have to leave my hair down because it looks funky with a headband and ponytail.

My other option is to chop it into a pixie cut.
I've had it that short several times over the years so I know its gonna look cute.

I go to get my hair colored this coming weekend and I kinda need to know what I'm doing about my hair style by then.

So what have you found to be more manageable in the parks and if you were in my situation which option would you choose?

I'm not a female nor do I play one on TV, but, how about wearing a baseball cap with they pony tail out the back. I think caps look a lot nicer on women then men anyway.
I wear a baseball cap daily for my walks outside. I can tell you my hair does not look very pretty after I take it off lol.
I really need the bangs to grow in order for that to work well.

Aquanet! You can glue a battleship to a wall with that stuff!
Do they still make that?
To OP, I have always had long hair, but have been through the grow out bangs stage. Pin it to the side with Bobby pins, or a hair clasp and a hat is your friend or a scrunchie pony tail. My hair gets so frizzy, with natural curl, no matter I have to put it up in Florida.
Edit- just read last post quote I did not see, a hat and Kenra paste- on the bangs. With fine hair. My mom uses it and her hair is fine and fly away. :)8890091D-D55E-45B2-9AD9-FE37327589A5.jpeg

Leave it on until it doesn't matter. Or put up with hat hair like men do all the time. Even me, my sideboards are all a mess when I take my hat off. The only time I wear a hat is when I'm golfing because I know I'm going home right from there. Just the other day my granddaughter asked me why I don't open my sunroof on my car and I said because I didn't want to mess up my hair. She laughed and said that I didn't have any hair. I let her live because she is only 7.🤨

Why do you need to know before you get it colored? Why not just wait and see how much your hair grows? And when in July is your trip? I grow my hair out to chop off and donate every few years, but I find longer hair easier to manage in the parks. I don't have to style it, or dry it. I can wash it in the morning and then put it in a bun, a braid, etc. I had a short bob one time and found it too warm, because I couldn't put it up, and it frizzed out when I left it down, even after blow drying it, so it never looked good. So now I grow it out, and then cut it after I get home. But that's just me, and I have bangs because I look terrible without them.

I have long hair and hate putting it in ponytails. I say "let it flow". If you got really fine/thin hair (like mine), just let it sit naturally and add a hairband to pull back the bangs, or a pair of mouse ears to do the job.

I need to decide because my hair stylist used to be full time at a salon when I met her and then life happened and she got a full time job at an insurance company and now works at request at her mom's salon on her day off. My sister and mom and I all try to go on the same day every couple months for colors so she only has to use her day off once in a while for us. I trust a regular place for upkeep with a cut but not the initial cut.
I'm going July 22nd.
There is absolutely no way my bangs are growing enough to put EVERYTHING in a ponytail.
Also in the last few days I think I've decided to chop it into a very short pixie.
Its so easy to take care of because my hair just seems to like that style.
Plus in trying to wear headbands I'm realizing that when my hair is pulled back you can see my skin in some areas. Not like I'm going bald but just IDK how to explain it it doesn't look good and it looks greasy.
If not in a headband even though I style my hair the bangs lay right in my eyes. Last night I literally had to rip a piece of my hair off my eye lash area. Not sure why that's happening lol. But it is now irritating my eyes.
So yeah after a lot of thinking I have made my decision.
Its not JUST for the trip its more like I was using the trip as a deadline of deciding what to do with my hair and how manageable it would be for the trip was a bit of a factor.

I live in an area that's equally hot and humid. I refuse to cut my hair short. I can't do bangs, so I'm no major help there, but I rock (or so I'd like to think) a messy bun on top of my head on a regular basis. I can make it sleek, I can dress it up by pulling some strands out, and I still have my hair long in case I want to wear it down. Just be careful with any products in your hair...not that I go without (since my curls would likely make me look like an electrocution victim), but product tends to drip into your eyes when you sweat. Not the best pic, but this is what mine normally looks like and I'm sure it would be good with bangs as well. A thought with the bangs...I've seen a number of people use bobby pins to keep them in place with a pony or a bun...and there are all kinds of cute ways to clip them up.

Oh, we'll be there at the same time! We go July 20th.
I am personally not much a fan of hairbands...they pinch behind my ears and give me a headache after a while. Though for Disney, we've made a TON of Minnie Mouse Ear hairbands, so I'll be wearing some on our trip. But I'd say if you can't pull it all back, and you don't like the way you look with a headband, you've made the right decision with the pixie cut. I can't do a pixie as I look ridiculous, but it's a great cut for some women, and nice for hot weather! Plus, then you don't have to be constantly brushing your hair out of your face.
