Lack of Charging stations in Disneyland.

Your phone life is your responsibility, not Disneys. Even using my phone for all the things Disney has and my only camera, my iPhone 13 battery was fine. Smartphones are part of our daily lives now, it’s not any business’ responsibility or duty to provide charging services.
I mean it’s still a nice convenience for a “world leader in customer service” to provide. It’s becoming somewhat expected now days.

Again, the brand new area of Epcot is filled with charging stations so WDW gets it.

I’ve found a few spots at DL that work though… but I’m not telling! Haha.

When my phone becomes more and more of an essential tool to fully enjoy my day at Disneyland, I put more responsibility onto them to enable me to use my phone all day long

That’s a good point. The refusal to give out physical tickets for magic key is so ridiculous.

You go for lunch in Downtown Disney and your phone dies that’s your day over right?

Want to eat somewhere, you must first join the waitlist on your phone, pay your $25 for your paid fastpass better hope your battery doesn’t die etc etc

Disneyland Paris doesn’t even give out paper maps anymore, there’s just the app

I have a hard time sympathizing with dead cell phones when portable chargers are so readily and economically available. I travel into the parks light, but along with my MB, lanyard for my ID and credit cards, phone and small sanitizer I also carry a portable charger the size of two Kit Kat fun size bars stacked on top of each other. The charger can charge my phones battery about 1.5 times.

Phones are so integrated into our lives these days. Its not just a Disney thing as everything is going mobile. As such it only makes sense that when on a trip, no matter the destination, if you're going to be away from your hotel room that you bring a portable charger.

And since you can get a portable charger for less than $20 on Amazon that is very lightweight it no longer makes sense to demand Disney to offer charging stations. Yes we can all say it would be nice and good customer service and all that, but it makes no sense to not have and bring a portable charger these days.

This is such an interesting topic to have division over.

So is WDW wasting money by adding charging areas? I was just at Epcot this week and saw people using them.

Should Disney NOT provide a convenience guests want?

They can but not expected, personally I wouldn’t want to waste 30ish min doing nothing sittig or standing next to a plug but that’s me. My charger cost $20-30.

When Wireless Contactless Charging becomes a reality in all devices then I would say it should be expected that Disney offer it since it won't require guests to be huddled around charging ports.

Until then just bring a portable charger.

Funny. I went to Disneyland this past fall (as well as California Adventure, Magic Mountain, Knotts Berry Farm, Universal, and the Academy Awards museum. I made sure my phone was charged at 100% for each days park entrance. I never had a single issue with the phone dying. Not one single time.

What’s the difference? Also Epcot has contactless charging :)
There is a difference, and I'm not talking about Qi wireless charging.

What I'm talking about is over-the-air charging where your device can be charged while walking. Imagine walking down Main St and having your device being charged without having to stand around a charging station just by being connected to the Disney Wifi.

Disney was actually working on this a number of years ago -

Other companies were also, there are a few that have started to put out Wifi routers to do it. All we need is the device manufacturers to start adding the receivers into the devices.

Funny. I went to Epcot this past week and saw many guests using the outlets provided.
