Laboring Through with Our Magic Friends

Hey, Dot, did Lauren decide on a Daddy song yet for the wedding?

Oh George helped Lauren decide that long ago. He asked for "Daddy's Little Girl". He really wants that one and she could not refuse him. That should be good for some serious weeping.
It's the groom and his mom who haven't picked a song yet.

Being old is hard. Being old and alone is hell.

I know - that was the point of our visiting; it was an encouragement given to us by our Sunday school teacher to visit our elderly members that can no longer attend. And then you think, someday that could be me - and then you call your mom and when she sounds down, you ask and she tells you what's wrong is that she's old. With a laugh, but still bothers me.

Ohhhh, I got it. For some reason I thought you were needing suggestions for that one instead. :hammer:

We tend to talk about the elderly as if their an alien culture. Like they're so far removed from us, we can hardly relate. That's because we don't want to think of what might be ahead for us. It's scary.

Nope. That has been settled.
Right now our biggest problem is trying to find a limo to transport the bride and her bridesmaids from here to the ceremony/reception site. That's about a half hours drive. The cheapest rate so far is $380. No way.

And they have so much to teach us, if we only take the time to listen. But I see my mom and her arthritis, and I see my future...my hands and feet look exactly like hers. And I know there is much more I want to share with her - I invited her and Dad up this Sunday to have pre-birthday cake and ice cream with all of us. DH is doing all the baking and ice cream making. :slurp:

You are cracking me up. :ROFLOL: I can just see you hugging that wedding cake...."MINE!"
 What's wrong w/ that?

Oh and wedding cake is my favorite, favorite kind of cake. :slurp:

*drool*
Indeed, again.
We only need it to take the girls there and that's it!
How can you justify that much money for that?
And that is the only limo company? Maybe try a Towncar company. How many girls is it? We can get a nice, black towncar (in NYC!) for $70 and that's all the way from the city to the airport. Even if you needed 2 it'd probably still be cheaper. And some of them have the big, black suburban SUV's too.
