Labor cost cutting measures begin at Walt Disney World as the company enters Q1

I've parked in the lots. The farthest thing from my mind is looking at the vegetation at the far reaches of the lots. We are too exited to enter and enjoy the day.
And I understand that. But just because some people don’t notice doesn’t mean they shouldn’t care. It’s about attention to detail and upkeep. My local grocery store shouldn’t have a more cared for parking lot than the Grand Floridian

For what we pay for, we look for customer service, rides and attractions working, food hot and fresh and the drinks are cold, and clean parks which WDW has done well in and also have issues to improve upon. If someone is concerned about far reaches of the parks parking lot on issues on vegetation that's their own beef. In regards to hotels, it seems like the focus is on entrance ways of the hotels to make the area appealing. When many were furloughed and or laid off the vegetation doesn't take care of it by itself so areas of improvement can be addressed when the work groups are fully back to a full team. Some know there is a labor shortage, right?
Labor shortages exist nationwide, with the exception of WDW. There, any lack of attention to detail is attributable solely to greed and unwarranted cost-cutting.

Yeah…that didn’t get that much play when it happened.

the idea that the concrete at DAKL costs more than next door at Coronado and that that in turn costs more than all stars is just ridiculous.

and the concrete costs nothing at blizzard.

The problems I’m referring to existed before Covid. They are just worse now.
WDW seems to be throwing out there hundreds of dollars and $1K signing bonus incentives out there to fill operations positions so the " greed, cost cutting " argument doesn't fly in this subject matter.

Is that what I feel tugging at my back pocket?

You’re just digging a hole…they absolutely have been cutting maintenance and increasing prices while adding new and exotic fees for quite some time.

where have you been? Like Afghanistan?

Iger grew the company in tech, global expansion, mergers and acquisition and made stockholders including me very happy, just sayin😊. Chapek will be judged how he maneuvers during covid and post covid.
…such a cynical view of an entertainment company.

more like GE or Phillip Morris

Sure there has been cutting that's public knowledge but also have been desperate to attract applicants by throwing out bonus money to lure in the people. Never been to Afghanistan but love the Afghan cuisine when visiting NYC!

Those “bonuses” are a red herring…and for once it appears the workers aren’t falling for it.

…you’re not gonna do the “blame the workers” Stamps thing, I hope?

You've stooped that low to refer to her? Surely you jest.
I don’t do it by preference…but the “$1000 bonuses” used twice to indicate somehow they are hamstrung?

surely ye jest.

if you want to make the case (it’s wrong - but whatever) that it’s limited due to staffing…make it. But the money isn’t the reason. It’s still not a lot of money anyway.
