Hello everyone!

Illuminations is one of my absolute favorite shows... I have an 8pm ADR fireworks - start at 9pm.. wondering if anybody has gone during fireworks and can tell me how the view is
This is my anniversary dinner and I really don't want to get bummed out by a bad seat.

Thank you :)

The view is good pretty much anywhere from around the WS during this, you just have to watch the smoke direction for the night you are going to be there, that is all. Enjoy.

The window views are only good if you have a window seat in a room that has a water view. There is at least one room with no views of the show. And, everyone wants the window seats with a view and are hard to get. Those coming at 7:30 will likely try to linger into the show time so there may be no window seats available when you arrive.

If you do get a window view you will have lots of people come over and get into your personal space. If you don't have a window seat the view won't be that good.

Not trying to be a downer but realistically you may have to anticipate a less than perfect experience,

I hear that they do not mind if you arrive early and say you'll wait for a decent seat what are your thoughts on trying that out... also do you think calling ahead and noting on my reservation that its an anniversary dinner makes a difference? ... Wondering if I should just make an earlier ADR and plan to be outside for the illuminations?

I tend to agree with Marni, the most likely to succeed idea is to get an earlier reservation. The problem with showing up earlier is that you still encounter the problem of everyone wanting a window table and not a strong possibility that a window table will open up.

Noting an anniversary may help but there are literally hundreds to thousands of people celebrating events daily at WDW. Having an anniversary is not that unusual there.
