Kingdom Hearts?

Hi everyone! I in no way am saying I've heard anything about this even as a possibility, but with the success that the "Kingdom Hearts" games have had, does anyone think that Disney will ever pursue something in the parks (whether it be buttons, items, rides, shows, whatever, you know). Basically does anyone think it will ever be something that is recgnized at the Disney parks or anything further than the game? I've played them and think they are great, and I also LOVE the Disney parks, so I was just wondering. Would be cool to have a KH pin or something for my collection. :)

Thanks for reading this!

If i remember correctly the first time around Disney didnt do much advertising. Am i wrong?

It would be a smart move i think to have KH pin as well as possibly something in Disneyquest. I dont think it would necessarily fit into any of the parks, maybe fantasyland but it would ruin the mood. However if done right incoperation of KH into the parks and merchandise could be a very smart move on Disney's part.

great games, imo.

anyways, you're right, disney didn't do much advertising for the first game, but that may be because no one believed it would do as well as it did (outsold both FFX and FFX-2 in north america). but i do remember that they did have a few ps2s with kh set up in the video game area in innoventions. i'm not sure how long it was there though.

I'm sure disney wouldn't do anything major, like an attraction at this time, maybe never. I'm not even sure what they would use to incorporate it if they do.

(p.s. march 28th!! :D )

Certainly Square had no idea that it would bring any sort of success in the States. In fact, it was originally never supposed to come out here due to licensing concerns.

That's why I bought the Japanese version of the game initially.

I was one of the first people outside of Square to see Kingdom Hearts. I had no idea what it was at the time, only that I saw someone tinkering with Disney and Final Fantasy characters on the same screen. I never thought that those two worlds would be put together. I looked in the cubicle and thought "Wow, Someone's as much a Disney fan as me here!" when I saw a bunch of Disney characters and artwork.

I have a metal Keyblade given to me by my rep at Square... heh.

The KH video game is still set up in Innoventions, or was in Sept. They had about 4 games for it.

A pin would be great!

Does anyone know the release date? I have seen Feb 28, March 28 and April 15th (all recently) and would just like to have a better idea.

I know that to promote Chain of Memories, they had meet and greet with Sora(mask character) Donald and Goofy(both in KH clothes) in Tommorowland during MNSSHP.

I could see something going in at DQ...I don't know if this is necessarily it, but something new would be nice. But then again DQ is almost always packed (at least when I have been there), so DQ probably looks like it doesn't need to be touched as far as the budget is concerned.

Wow, that's cool. Maybe they might do something for KH2? One can only hope. :p

I think that a meet and greet would be awesome. It would give Disney the opportunity to advertise the game without building a ride.

My hubby is wanting me to make matching KH shirts for our upcoming WDW trip!!!

well technicaly the main character Sora is not a disney own property. he belongs to square.
Actually, Disney owns all the original Kingdom Hearts characters meaning not just Sora, but Riku, Kairi, Ansem, DiZ and the XIII Organization.

They currently have costumes of Sora, [KH] Goofy, and [KH] Donald, which have been seen during the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Parties. Other than that, unless you plan on going to Japan, I wouldn't expect much, if anything.

I have pics of all 3 KH Characters during MNSSHP. They were sooo cool. But getting to the point...Disney/Square's partnership would have to be HUGE if they really wanted to boast some kind of attraction and the other prob here is there are so many Disney & Final Fantasy Characters collaborated into one big attraction they would pay one hefty price to make something. Also on a side note it's too bad they never had a Toontown/Roger Rabbit level in the game. But then they would have to deal with Speilberg & Amblin...and then it would get pretty messy.

I know that in KH2's Disney Castle has elements of the park's Toontown. That and part of Hollow Bastion looks A LOT like Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle.
