I just spoke to a good friend of mine who interviewed for a position working on the new Kim Possible World Showcase attraction. This friend recently got a call from casting saying that the hiring of the regular cast for this attraction has been delayed until January. This would seem to me to indicate that the attraction is being delayed until then!

I hope your exclamation mark does not indicate you are suprised. This now seems to be "business as usual" at the world. They seem to have made the decision that funds are better spent building new DVC's. :zipit:

The official grand opening got pushed back to January. There will be still Test and Adjust going on. Still trying to work out the bugs. There is a hiring freeze on a lot of jobs also. Some of my friends were ready to transfer to other jobs and they were put on hold.

I dont think its much of a hiring freeze, as the company doesn't need these cast members at this attraction. To be a part of a new attraction or anything else that is opening brand new to the public, the company always hires from within. Most of the cast members who applied for Kim Possible have other jobs elsewhere in the company.

At this point, we should start a thread for projects that DON'T get put on hold.
Sorry to sound disappointed, but is there a project that is going ahead as scheduled? I hope they get this stuff worked out soon, I'm getting tired of reading some of the bashers threads and thinking they are actually becoming reality.

How much more lodging does one place need? Talk about expansion overkill. This may really hurt them in the future.

I hate to say I don't care because the concept seems like a lot of fun but I really don't. Yes I want to try it out but KP is a thing of the past & there hasn't been a new Ep. of the show in forever. What Disney should have done is retheme it to Perry The Platypus from Phineas & Ferb after the first test run. KP will get stale quick since the show is done & over with.

Most of that list has been under construction for a while. So shuttering those projects would be vastly more difficult than putting on hold projects that have not even started yet.
For projects that haven't started, they are either in an area that could use the retail space (Flamingo Crossing) because of a complete absence of it, or are catering to a crowd that is more recession-proof than others (Four Seasons).
I guess DVC is what we are hating now. And here I was, enjoying the irrational Fastpass hate from a few weeks ago.

If it were an adventure with Agent P against Doofenshmirtz I would make a special trip in January to be there!!!!!!!!!
We are are big P&F fans and would love to see more done with them in the park and with merchandise ! *cough*Lindonna adult t-shirt*cough* I know I am not alone on this one!!!

While you are correct about the opening cast members for an attraction come from within, there is a HUGE hiring freeze across property.
