Killer Mickey/Minnie Crocs

I'll admit, I was once one of those people who saw people walking around in Crocs thinking, "How can someone put something that hideous on their feet and walk around like a normal person?" I read all the posts on this site about how wonderful crocs were on the feet during the long hikes at WDW. That made me curious. 1st morning of our last trip we had to run (literally) into the MK for our family portraits. We were all dressed up including leather dress shoes. Don't ya know by the time our portraits were done I had not 1 but 2 blisters on my left foot that had ruptured and stung so bad I could barely stand it. By the time we made it back into the Emporium I had to take the shoe off and walk with 1 bare foot. We went right over to the Mickey crocs. Again, I looked at them reluctantly but I remembered what I read and decided I had to have something on my foot to get back to the hotel to change. So I bit back my vanity and bought them and a pair of Mickey socks. As soon as I started to walk the pain was gone. It was like walking on clouds. Loooove them. In fact, I wore my ugly crocs proudly with lots of Jibbitz for the rest of the trip. I bought my DH a pair and he is now a believer. We got both our boys a new pair, too. I love croc pics now. If you're in line and bored have everyone put a croc-foot in and snap a picture. It's a fun Disney memory! LOL!

Anywhoo, in my quest to find the right footwear for DH and my upcoming May trip sans kiddos I started searching for different styles of crocs just to see what's out there. Looky what I found! Oh yeah! These babies will be miiiiine for May!!!! I even went to our local Dillards department store and tried a pair of non-Disney ones to see how the fit would be. They're amazingly comfy!

This website actually has a huuuuge selection of all crocs, Disney crocs, and Jibbitz. I'm sharing the wealth here. I hope I'm not going to get in trouble for letting people know where to find some cool stuff.

Anywhoo, here's to croc feet! :king:

I put off buying a pair of crocs for years, convinced that they were some type of medieval torture device created by a poor blind Dutchman with absolutely no fashion sense and a seething hatred for all things comfortable...:lookaroun

...but as soon as I saw the new Disney crocs last year, the Disney geek in me was compelled to purchase a pair to see what all the fuss was about. As I slipped the cool rubbery goodness onto my morbidly obese foot I instantly fell in love. Crocs rock...hard!

And they're way more comfortable than Danish clogs!:D

OK, those maryjane looking crocs are adorable. I "may" purchase one. I am like you though. I think they are so ugly. I like the mickey heads but the shoe itself is so ugly. My niece has the Sketcher ones that are a little open and I like those, but the real crocs...um, ew. My other niece had on a pair with us in Disney last summer and she loved them but they looked funky. They remind me of Birkenstocks and I think those are hideous. I am in the market for a good pair of walking shoes so maybe I will give these cuter ones a try. Thanks for the link.

Question: Do they make your feet sweat and are they better with socks or without?

I have a pair of bright pink Beach crocs that I bought 2 years ago for disney. I was formally a croc hater myself... I call them "platapus feet".

Just yesturday I bought a new pair for my trip coming on tuesday.
They are called Alice Suede. They are black and man do they go with ANYTHING. I tried them with jeans, dresses, short and longer skirts and shorts. They fit any style you wear! Of course these Alice ones are only designed for woman.

Here is a tip for finding a pair of crocs that go with everything...

*Get a color like black that goes with everything

*Try them on in a store that sells clothes also (I did it in Macy's)

*Pick out shorts, Jeans (and skirt for ladies) and try them on with the crocs.

That's what I did and I found the perfect pair

I find it's much more comfortable to actually have both shoes. Besides, I doubt they'll sell you just one.

I agree. Those were my first choice but through foot measuring it was discovered that my feet are too thin for the length so the look way too big on me. I wish they didn't!

It depends on what style croc you wear. If there is lots of room around your foot like the Beach then no not really. With the Beach ones I wear socks but I don't mind them w/o. With the Alice I don't wear socks because they are cuter that way.

I must warn you. I wore my mary jane style crocs last august around the parks and I got blisters. I don't know why. It was horrible. I had worn my regular clog style crocs on the previous trip and had no problem. But the mary jane's design is just different enough that, at least for me, they were not a good choice for the parks. I ended up buying the black Mickey crocs a few days into the trip because I couldn't take my brown mary jane crocs (with kermit and gonzo jibbitz, of course!) for one more minute!

i have a pair of black mary jane crocs i bought on our trip last year. my flip flops were just getting old, the squishyness was going away. i had been eyeing them for a long time but just wasnt sure i could give in. well i did, i figured, what the hell, and i wear them all the time!! i cant stand the look of the other crocs, the beach and cayman. i wore these the rest of our trip, and still wear them now for work (im a dog walker). ive seen them in cotton candy, and silver, that i love. i wear them with socks mostly now, which has stretched them out a little, but theyre comfy without them too. go to the crocs website and see all the designs. they even have a wedge heel pair!! :p

I always thought crocs were hideous as well but when I was pregnant, they were the only shoes I could get on my grossly swollen feet. They were so comfortable and the look kinda grew on me. I am a convert.

I went to my local Dillards (it's like Macys) and tried on a pair of the plain, non-disney mary janes to see if they worked for me. I have huuuuge fat feet (but I'm tall so it doesn't look too sasquatchey) and it's difficult for me to find shoes that are comfy for me in length and width. The mary janes fit like a glove. They were wonderful. I wear my regular black standard Mickey crocs with thin ankle socks. They're real fun with the Mickey ankle socks they sell in the resort. If you look at all the styles, they also have strappy sandle looking crocs, flip flops with cloth straps rather than the rubbery foam material, and all sorts of designs. You're bound to find something less-hideous than the standard crocs. I can't say enough about how wonderful they are on my feet. At the end of a Disney day I don't feel like knawing my own feet off at the ankle.

Those are so cute. Does WDW sell the mary jane style crocs? I would order them but I probably won't get them in time for my trip. I leave in exactly a week. :sohappy::sohappy:

So THAT'S why they're called Crocs! Thanks for clearing that up for me, I've been wondering about it for quite some time.

Whats great is as I found this topic I am wearing my red Mickey Crocs. (small world) I have to say my only rule is socks with Crocs may be ok by ONLY with pants. With shorts the sock/croc look screams tourist. (no offense to those who do this) I was even told I could wear them at work but I haven't done this yet because I would have to wear socks with them. Also they are cheaper if you buy them out of the parks like everything else so try to find them before you go down there. In fact if anyone needs Crocs shoot me a PM because I work at a shoe store & get a 30% discount.

I think Crocs should be worn in Hospitals and on boats. I have tried on crocs once but I didn't leave my mom's closet cause they look so ridiculous! :hammer:

To all of you who enjoy them, I hope the shoes do bring your feet relief when you walk around Disney. Disney Freak429 I do agree with you.... Socks + Crocs not the greatest looks especially with shorts. But Socks + Crocs < Socks + sandals :hurl:(even more hideous looking).

sweetpee_1993: I'd rather see the Mary Jane Crocs that you found then the originals, on peoples' feet any day!:animwink:

If your Crocs don't fit you just right, just leave them out in the Florida sun for a little. My brother's crocs shrunk a size or two when he left them on the boat all day long in the sun . Just be careful that you don't leave them out too long!!
