Its not really that bumpy. A little bit here and there. In fact I can only think of one part that would jolt you at all. Other than this "faster" part its comparible to a ride in a truck or a jeep. I wont be more detailed because you haven't been on it and I don't want to ruin anything at all. I'm not a doctor, but I think you'll be fine. One thing you won't probably be able to ride is Dinosaur. VERY jerky.

If ya had an ingrown toenail removed, no problem.....but if ya had your gall bladder removed, think hard about it...there have been times I came off the Safari ride and it was better than seeing my chiropractor for an adjustment.

...seems to me that some of the drivers deliberately attempt to bounce ya around to give you the 'in-country' illusion...I wish i had the capability of making a video clip of my last trip just to prove my point...

i would recommend that you sit it out this time around. the ride can be very rough at times. elderly people often complain about the roughness afterwards. my parents even mentioned how they thought it was a bit too wild. but i like it that way. :animwink:

The best advice has already been mentioned...

If the surgery was minor, then you should be fine. But, if you have had back/neck/hip/head surgery (or anything else that is fragile and important :) ), then you should consider not riding the safaris.

I hate to discourage people from experiencing this amazing ride, but I think that you are a special case. Since the roughness varies so much, it's impossible to predict how your ride will be.

I was just there this past January. I went with my boyfriends family. His father had to have his gall baldder removed 2 weeks before. He went on the safari, test track and the dinosaur ride and he said he had no problems. He also has rods in his spine from back surgery last year and he was worried about that but he was fine.

One other suggestion.

You might ask to ride on the handicapped truck. I am told that this one is driven slower to avoid being so rough.

....now that you mentioned it, the handicapped truck is the best idea....we've been behind it and it moves very slow...we kept catching up to the truck and had to wait to allow it to gain ground...

...since the author of the thread doesn't mention the type of surgery, it's all speculation on our part.
