However, unlike the Spectromagic Parade, they do not use ground sensors to track the vehicles, because they would need them every foot to keep accurate track of them. Radio signals are used (and possibly GPS due to the large tract of land).
As for the on-board audio, I'm not sure. You never see the driver triggering them, but you can be sure that they're not sent via radio waves, for they would risk losing some of them due to interference.
Also, Disney owns rights to hundreds of Radio Frequencies - they have plenty to keep Pal Mickey and Attractions on different frequencies, haha!
