Kidani hallways

Really enjoyed staying there. The hallways are incredibly long, but the long walk helped me to burn some calories from the enormous amount of food consumed with our meal plan. Yes, the walk is very long, but I enjoyed it.

We stayed at Kidani about 5 years ago and I think we calculated the walk from the lobby to our room at just about a quarter mile, so I hear ya :)

Jambo house hallways are fairly long but definitely more Byzantine. After a few days though, you really get to know your way around and more importantly, the shortcuts.

And Cushioned:) my kids would usually slip of their shoes before the walk back to the room. Glad I saw them carpet cleaning everyday:)

What is funny is the walk from the farthest room to the lobby at AKL is really right about the same length as many of the other deluxe resorts. It just looks longer as it is all inside with no real good point of reference for distance. There is just this winding hallway whose end you can't even see because it goes past the horizon.;)

The distance from the farthest point in Kidani is right around 1100 feet. Jambo is slightly shorter at around 1000. You will find similar numbers at pretty much all of the other deluxe and even value resorts. They all seem to fall in about the 900-1200 foot range.

If you really want to talk about long walks, the walking path for the farthest out buildings to the lobby at Coronado and Caribbean Beach come in around the 2400' range.

I've had that looooong Walk at Jambo. After a long day walking the parks, it seemed to go on forever with your room always just out of sight around the curve. On the plus side, we had Kevin (the bird in Up) squawk us a wake up call every morning.

I hear you. I calculated the walk from the lobby to my room at 3/4 mile. I knew it was a bad sign when the CMs at check-in kept asking if I had a car and giving me a concerned "oh dear" look when I said no.

It's been measured out to be about 1/3 of that from the furthest points.

I know the walks there are not much further than some others and I just love the resort. I think people do get fooled by the one directional hallway vs twists and turns.

Thanks! Sounds like some people have different measurements. It was definitely a very long walk.
All relative I think. I know I've personally measured using satellite maps (not pedometers which are often off) and never got more than .2-.25 even from the furthest to the bus stop.

The rooms closest to the lobby at AKL Kidani are a good three miles away from the front desk. Rooms down toward the end of the hallways...at least six miles. Of course, I have not actually measured them, just guessing, but either way take plenty of water and maybe an emergency blanket, first aid kit and extra provisions just in case.

That seems like an exaggeration.

First...I love DAK lodge...probably the best overall built/themed hotel...

But I hate the floor plan of kidani. I get why they had to do it...but not a fan of the "scalloped Line" layout
