We just booked our trip to the Boardwalk Villas in August. My wife tells me to call and reserve Chef Mickey's because she thought that is where the kids can help/learn to cook. I said she was mistaken that Chef Mickey's was just a dining with character experience. Is there anything in any of the other parks/resorts where kids can cook alongside an actual chef? We both could swear that we something like that a few years back? ny advice would greatly be appreciated!

You can make cookies in The Land pavillion in Epcot, thats free. Its on the ground floor, down the stairs. It runs about avery hour on the hour, first come first served.

You can also do the Grand Adventures in Cooking (or somthing like that). That you need to book (and pay for). It's for kids, and is over at the Grand Floridian. You can book it though the same number for dining reservations. Thats a sort of "be a chef" type experence.

Dave-
Thanks for the suggestions. Now that you mentioned it, I do remember the cookie making in The Land. We'll definitely look into the Grand Floridian thing. Thanks again!

The food network did a Disney special a few years back (I think it was part of their Unwrapped series), and if you can find it online, it shows a segment of that cooking experience at the Grand Floridian. From what I saw in the video, the kids learn safe cooking techniques, how to be clean and sanitary, plus they get to bake their own creation. While it is baking, they get to color and decorate a chef hat and apron to take home. It looks really adorable, and I'd love to work there!

Chef Mickeys is most definately just a resturant---although you should still make reservations there---the breakfast is soooo good. Make sure to try the breakfast pizza!

You might be thinking of the Disney Institute. I don't know what ever ended up happening to it but you could go there for the day and cook and they also had the spa and all kinds of other programs where you could "learn" something. I think they also had rock climbing and an acting and drawing class. From what I remember it was pretty expensive.

I will most definitely try the breakfast pizza! Thanks for the suggestion. I've searched high and low for that episode but no luck. I'll have to keep searching....

I am sending my 4 year old boy on the Pirates Adventure at the GF in August!!:)

Candy making at Goofys in DTD, too.

Heard on another thread that they did away with the cookie making.

A CM told me on the phone today that there are lots for a four year old to do at Disneyquest.
