Pre-Trip Kickin' Off the Coolest Summer Ever with a College Visit and 24 Hours of Disney!

Whoo-hoo! So we're finally going back to the World after a 10 month hiatus (just look at my signature, that's a long time for me compared to the last couple of years). It's still just going to be a short half-week mother/son trip, but we can't wait! It's a birthday present/educational trip for we will stop at UCF (University of Central Florida in Orlando) the first full day we are there, but other than that we will be keeping our hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the Bubble at all times :D Here are all the deets:

When: Wednesday May 20 - Saturday May 23

Why: Technically a college visit (but mainly for the 24 hour event :p)

Who: Mom & Son

Where: WDW of course (but we're staying at All-Star Movies for the first time)

Wednesday 20th:
We (Mom = teacher, son = junior in HS) will still be in school at that time which makes finding flights a little harder if we don't want to miss that day. Luckily, Frontier Airlines (never flown them before) was having a great sale and we got one-way tickets for $29 each from Cincinnati leaving at 5:55pm...perfect price and timing for us! We land around 8pm and we'll be picking up our rental car from Hertz. It'll be our first time with a rental car in Orlando, but we know our way around well enough and this was actually cheaper than getting a cab to UCF and then to Sanford for our return flight. Once we make it through the traffic and wave to our offsite timeshare off I-Drive and we pass under the magnificent red arches where I will attempt to take a nighttime picture that will inevitably be blurry, we'll get to All-Star Movies and order some pizza or something (maybe even take a late-night swim). I've done online check-in and requested the Toy Story section closer to transportation. We'll see how that works out. After a long day of school and traveling we'll hit the hay and be ready for the rest of our trip!

Thursday 21st:
I figured we'll just eat some Mickey waffles at the food court for breakfast before we head to UCF for our 10am visit time. Once we return from UCF, I hope it's sunny and hot so we can swim and tan our white-as-Olaf Indiana bodies :p Then I just got a reservation for Whispering Canyon Cafe at 8pm. I'm going to try to look for an earlier time, but if not it's okay. We've never been here before or even to the Wilderness Lodge so I'm really excited for it. Anything special to ask our server??? After we eat we may explore or decide to go to bed early because we'll have over 24 hours with no sleep the next day!

Friday 22nd (the All-Nighter):
We learned the last time we did an All-Nighter (2013) to get to the gates early-ish. We have our tickets purchased and Magic Bands already so we won't have to wait in line to buy tickets this time. The plan is to be up around 4:15, on a bus by 5, and at the gates by 5:30 at the latest. I haven't seen the Welcome Show in a few years and it's my favorite show in Magic Kingdom! After that, it's going to be a mad dash to the Mine Train and then it's whatever for the rest of the day. I have FP's for Peter Pan's Flight (8:40am-9:40am), Space Mountain (10:50am-11:50am), and Splash Mountain (12:30pm-1:30pm). The Disney Channel stars are leading the 3pm FoF and though it is most definitely not a priority to see them, we might as well since we will be there. I also snagged a Be Our Guest ressie at 11:15pm. Yes, you read that right. PM!!! It's all that was available and why not, right?? We're on vacation! We will be staying in the park the full 24 hours.

Saturday 23rd:
Our Allegiant Air flight leaves from Sanford, FL, around 2pm. So hopefully we can chill at a resort pool until we have to drive to the airport. We did not book a hotel room for Friday night because we really don't need one. This worked out the last time so hopefully all goes well again. I had a reservation at Kona Cafe (another place we have never been) at 7:35am, but I canceled it in case someone else that can definitely go at that time wants it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but people aren't lining up through the whole resort to get to Kona for breakfast are they? I would like to try some Tonga Toast so if we make it there we do and if we don't that's fine...we'll always be back :)

So that's it folks! I always say this but hopefully I will actually FINISH a trip report this time...we'll see!! Thanks for reading :)

Have fun! I'd love to go to a 24 hour event.
They are a lot of fun :D

I almost forgot to add that the last time we did the All-Nighter, our flight got delayed and we didn't get to bed at our hotel Thursday night at 2am...then we were up by 5am to get ready!! If we made it then, there's no question we'll make it the full 24 this time :)

Have a great time. Wishing I was there for this years event. Still regret not doing the live report last year just so I can remeber all we did that. Look forward to reading yours. Again, have a great time!

I just scored a 7 Dwarfs Mine Train FP for 7am just 10 days before our park day!! I replaced my PPF FP for it...I've been checking back every few hours since we booked to get it! Now if I can get a little bit earlier Whispering Canyon Cafe ADR I'll be all set :)
