KH: Chain of Memories

I'm getting my butt handed to me in the fourth battle against Riku because he keeps hitting me with this one move that confuses Sora and makes him do the opposite of what you tell him(move up when you press down, etc).

For the Hades battle, which took me awhile, stock up on high level attack cards, the Jafar card is defenitely needed because it prevents card breaks on your attack cards also. Get a couple of cures and a potion to restock your deck quickly. If you can also get yourself the enemy card that lets you restock your deck on the fly, that can come in very handy as well. Do as much damage to Hades as you can before using the Jafar card, that way he can't card break you when he uses Berserker and you should be able to beat him.

What's the fighting engine feel like. The "card" concept is what is keeping me from buying it because it sounds very odd. Also, if you have played through the original game, is Chain of Memories worth the cost?

I'm having a really hard time getting used to the card concept. I end up just hitting things without paying attention to the cards so I know I won't be able to get past the big bosses (I'm still in Agrabah at the moment). Personally, I liked the original KH much better, but CoM is a good in-between game waiting for KH2. I just really need to figure out how to manipulate the cards better.

The card system does take getting used to, and I am still not great at it, but I've been good enough to get through most of the Sora storyline. I'm just having a heck of a time with taking down the new version of Riku. The best I have done so far is to get through to his last life bar, but then I just got rocked again. The story is really good, though and it is worth the cost of the game IMO, even just having gotten to where I am right now. The best thing to do with the card system is make sure you have alot of high number cards and a few '0' cards for when the enemies try big nasty moves on you. Then, I pretty much just hope for the best. The only two bosses that have killed me so far had been Hades(until I found my strategy to beat him) and Riku #4(since I underestimated him having trounced him the first three times). I'll get past him eventually, though, and then I'll have the joy of more bosses to fight.

I should warn you to turn back and save at Destiny Islands before going any futher right after you beat the fourth Riku(Which I did in one try, heh), because you have to fight a second battle with Larxene right after that before you can even reach the stairs to the last floor. You only have three more boss fights in Sora's story after that...

Yeah I found that out the hard way. I had my deck set to beat Riku's final version. Then I got to fight Larxene without saving. BIG NO NO. The card concept I think adds a tad more strategy and makes you think before setting up a deck, or using a card. It brings a whole new level of gameplay to card games. This is one of the better "card" games for GBA. And it is really the basic good 'ol Kingdom Hearts with or without the card system. I would highly recommend it.

Anyone else have problems with quick save? I did a quick save at Olympic Stadium (is that what Herc's place is called?) and when I started playing again the next day, I was back in Castle Oblivion before I fight Axel.

Does Quick Save work???

I don't have trouble with Quick Save, but if you had trouble with it, I recommend regenerating a room into a Save Room (Using Moment's Reprise or something like that)

Ok.. Hades is royally ticking me off!!!!!!!! Anyone have any strategies on how to beat him?

1.) Stock up on high energy cards
2.) GET RID OF ALL FIRE CARDS THOSE ADD TO HIS HEALTH
3.) Watch his cards closely, don't attack when he uses his three card combo
4.) HEAL, HEAL, HEAL!
5.) Use Oggie Boggie, who will give health back to you over time, handy!
