Hey folks... it's been awhile since I've posted but Im here. Need your help. Tell me about your experience during the Keys to the Kingdom tour. How much in advance did you buy your tickets? How would you rate the experience? We are planning on doing it in November!

I absolutely LOVED this tour!!!! Trust me, you will not be sorry. Matthew was our tour guide and was a gem. His tour was filled with many facts (he promised at least 1 new fact that you did not know before) and he was also entertaining and very humorous. It's an amazing experience and it was worth every penny! Definitely a must for any Disney fan. They give a lot of facts about the park, but some of it is sights that you normally would take for granted or never take a moment to stop and think about what you are seeing. You get to go backstage and view certain areas (my personal fave was seeing where Tinker Bell landed after her flight). We also rode on 1 ride with him (the Jungle cruise and all I have to say to that is "I LOVE DISCO") and he told us about facts on the Haunted Mansion before we rode it (like the hidden Mickey in the graveyard scene). I do not want to ruin it but if you would like more information, feel free to send me a PM.

I'm going in January and booked it last month. If I were you I wouldn't wait to make your reservation if you want to go. If you have a Disney Visa be sure and use it and you'll get 20% off. Everyone I know who has been on this tour loves it.

We went in May, and it was by far my favorite experience at WDW yet. It was so informative, and it was great to get a head start in the park before it opened ( we had 8:30am tour). My only complaint is that our guide was from California, and she talked (at great length) about how much better Disneyland was compared to WDW. It would have been ok, if she hadn't had to make a comparison at several attractions and other areas through the entire tour. Other than that, it was well worth it, and we plan on doing it again. Plus you get awesome Keys to the Kingdom pins.

You must mean "Wait for DS12 to meet friends who can get him a good fake ID, so he can pretend to be DS16." LOL!
Nah, I could get him perfect fake ID if I was going to go that way. But I have this really horrible trait of wanting to give him good examples to model himself after...

Well that's good. I will probably be the same way when I have kids. I mean, right now I even have trouble giving my parents "lip" about things. :o

We had Matthew also. He was awesome. When I do this tour again I am going to request him. I think his personality was perfect for this tour. My DH and I has a great time I would recommend to everyone.

I agree 100%! Definitely ask for Matthew. I just did the tour with him last Wednesday, and I've never had a better experience (I did Undiscovered Future World a few days later and the guide just wasn't as good). I didn't book my tours until about a week before my trip, as I hadn't really thought about doing them until my wife gave me a tour of Disneyland for my birthday. I wasn't nearly as blown away by the Disneyland tour as I was with the Keys to the Kingdom tour...but then Disneyland doesn't really take people backstage anymore, apparently. I've decided that from now on, going on the tour in the MK is like going on Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, or the Carousel of Progress - an absolute must. And I'll probably ask for Matthew, too.

Keys to the Kingdom was by far one of the coolest things I've ever done... it was just awesome. I think the reservations were made about a month and a half ahead of time or so.

Keys is a GREAT Tour, I've done it about 7 times, it's changed a lot since 1998, but always good, fun and informative.
We done it on the 09/16 and Stephen was our tour guide, he was really good, and seemed geniunely interested in what he was telling us.
I think the one of the best things this year was going right up close to the Splash Mountain water tank!
I'd reccommend it to anyone, and make it a must do if you come and talk on Disney forums like these

BTW a Disney Tour Guide is my dream job!!!

I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour about 3 years ago and still rave to everyone going that is a Disney fan like myself, to take the tour. A few friends have and they say it was one of the best parts of their vacation. I know some cast memebers call it the Kill the Magic tour, but I personally think it gives us, the guests, a better understanding and appreciation of the amound of detail that goes on to putting on the show. I know that once my kids turn 16, I would love for them to take the tour.

The tour was two thumbs, way up, from me and my wife. We booked it a few weeks ahead of time. I would do the 8:30 tour, since it does give you and early start at the park.

Is that the tour that they take you down to the utilidors? cause thats just smoke in mirrors. The place they show you show you down there is a very cleaned up low traffic area of the utilidors I only went through that way maybe 3 times and 2 of those there was a tour and they were SOOOO excited to see cast members down there:lol:.

Yeah fantasyland-er it is definatly a "cleaned" up area. I remember the tour used to go near costuming and cosmotology, definatly a different tour now to that of 1998, much more commercial
