I am wondering if anyone has done this tour. We are taking an adult only trip and I want to be sure it is worth missing 5 hours in the park. It sounds very interesting and this isnt something we would do with kids.

If you have the time? DO THIS. It's a GREAT tour... backstage areas, Utilidors, one or two rides with history & backstage data... and definitely not for the children :).
I second his opinion. You get a lot of history and information. And you get to brag to everyone that you have been backstage and in the utilidors of the MK

Do it!! It's so fun. We took the tour in November and another day we were sitting, sharing a Dole whip and another group was on the tour and stopped right where we were sitting ( you know.. that little area of tables by Aloha Isle) for a break the the tour guide just kept talking so we heard his info too. We didn't stop there on our tour so depending on your tour guide you get different info!

We took the tour in 2011 and loved it. We rode Jungle Cruise, Pirates and Mansion during our tour. It was fun seeing/hearing about the attractions in a behind the scenes sort of way. Going "backstage" was exciting. I really enjoyed seeing all the work that goes into creating the Disney magic (yes, I do still believe there is magic when visiting WDW). The tour is long but absolutely woth it, IMO.

I thought this was one with an age limit. Maybe I'm wrong. But I thought you had to sixteen years old. Either way, I wouldn't take a kid who isn't accustomed to doing tours or who was under twelve.

Only you can decide if you want to take time out of the parks...but I'm not sure it's a good idea. If you're even thinking you might want that time, I'd use it.

It's an okay tour. For people who aren't huge Disney geeks, I give it a B+.

Me and my mom took this tour when we went a few years ago and we liked it. It was interesting to hear the stories, see the backstage areas and get on the rides from the back (cast member way). Lunch was good and included with the price and I still have my Keys to the Kingdom pin. It was also interesting to see all of the hidden Mickeys around the park and in the rides. I still remember the story the tour guide told us about the Roy and Disney statues, it had some people in our group tearing up and it gives me goosebumps to tell the story.

It is worth it, do it if you can!

We loved it and getting the stories about the buildings on Main St and HM really made it worth while. My Key is still on my Disney 4 park jean jacket.

I would go for it! You will have a whole new perspective about Disney

I thought the tour was great. It was awesome to go behind the scenes and see things like the utilidors and the storage area behind Splash. Also, learned a lot of things that were very interesting about the history of the park and things were pointed out that I would never have noticed on my own.

My fiancee and I did this tour in May of '10. Mathew was our guide and he was absolutely fantastic. The only ride we rode was HM. We, as a group, decided to skip the other rides since we all were having a blast talking with our guide and listening to what he had to say. The time really flew by.

If you are worried about losing park time, which IMO is not something to worry about since you are still in the park but looking at it from a completely different point of view, book the first tour of the morning for before the park opens. We were halfway down MSUSA in a little ally area after RD and got to watch the "Running of the Tourists", as Mathew put it, from a side view. Very amusing. This will at least save you a little extra park time after.

Never regretted the tour for even a second.

Had a great guide, was with a group of fun people and saw things from a different perspective. If you ever wondered how Disney did some things....this will answer some of the questions.
