Keys to the Kingdom Questions

We are planning on taking the Keys to the Kingdom tour and wanted to find out somethings before we decide...

1. Where do you eat lunch, in the Park or in cast cafeteria in utilidors?

2. The description says that you get a 'keepsake' at the end of the tour, what is it?

3. When you visit the attractions, are you VIPed onto the ride or ?

4. Do you think its worth the cost above the price of 1 day admission?

5. What recommendations/advice would you give to those thinking about taking the tour?

We were only going to do 2 days at WDW, but when we talked about this tour we decided to add a 3rd day just for the tour. I wish they would give you a discount on the admission if you are just taking the tour and not visiting the park afterwards...or do they?

1. Columbia Harbor House

2. Used to be a Pin

3. Yes, you go through the ride exits and get right on the rides

4. Yes, it's a great entry-level tour, even for Disney veterans. A much more expensive tour is Backstage Magic, which is also worth the money.

5. It's no more enduring than a day at the park, except that you do stand quite a bit....but you stand a lot in the park. You can take photos while in the park, but don't even have a camera or phone out or visible when in backstage/restricted areas. And if you're the early tour of the day, get to the MK extra early so you can experience Main Street without any guests (if you get there before EMH or Park Opening)

6. There is no discount on park admission if you take the tour. But it's only about 4.5 hours, so you still have plenty of park time left. Backstage Magic is another story, at 8 hours, but you don't have to buy park admission for it since you don't ride anything.

Thanks for the information...from the looks of the advice on those links, it is a tour worth taking, even if you are a Disney fan! We are looking forward to it now...just 997 days to go! LOL!

It was an awesome tour when we went in December 2014. We had a CM that was really cool. I would give him props any day. I knew a lot (at 39 trips) and learned a lot. It's well worth it.

EDIT: I figured out hoe to correct it! NOW it's the correct countdown!;)

We took the tour 3 years ago. It was interesting but to be honest it felt more sales-pitchy more than anything else. As true disgeeks it was worth the time however IMO it really didn't justify the cost.

1. Columbia Harbor House

2. A pin shaped like a key

3. You get to ride Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion. During Jungle Cruise, the tour guide speaks and talks about the attraction. You don't get the skipper script. Because of the nature of HM, the tour guide doesn't speak to you through your ear piece. You just ride. But you do get to board through the passageway that connects the loading/unloading areas.

4. Yes. It's a great tour. Wish I could see more of the utilidors but you get to see enough to know what they are like. You also go backstage behind Frontierland.

5. It's a five hour tour. Wear comfortable shoes. Be patient and listen. Lots of good info. Just go with the flow.

We loved it. It isn't a canned tour. We took the tour and a couple days later saw a group out on the tour. They stopped for a break right where we were sitting (having a Dole whip :)) and got to listen to their guide. Different info and break location than our tour.

1. Where do you eat lunch, in the Park or in cast cafeteria in utilidors? Up Stairs in the Columbia House and the fried shrimp were great.

2. The description says that you get a 'keepsake' at the end of the tour, what is it? I think we got some type of cerificate.

3. When you visit the attractions, are you VIPed onto the ride or ? We only rode Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion. You get your own boat on JC and taken in from the exit of HM. Plus you get the whole backstory of both attractions.

4. Do you think its worth the cost above the price of 1 day admission? Heck to the YES

5. What recommendations/advice would you give to those thinking about taking the tour? Comfortable shoes and try to get a tour that starts before the park opens. That way Main Street is not so busy and loud.

We enjoyed this tour so much we now want to do the tour that does all four parks in one day!

Thanks for all you input! I will most definitely be reserving our space for this tour! Even though I am a former CM, I think I will still enjoy it!!!
