Keys to Magic Kingdom Tour

we took the tour about 6 years ago and found it very informative and interesting. I think that it is a pretty long tour (at least 3 or 4 hours maybe more? I don't really remember:confused:), there is also a good deal of walking, and I think a quick lunch is offered as well. As to cost I can't say because I think it was part of the package we took, but I think it's between 50 and 75 bucks.
I think the number to call is wdw-tour, but maybe someone else can help.

the best part of the tour i think is being able to explore the utilidoors and come back through a store. really good stuff, i would highly recommend this tour.

My husband and I took the tour in June 2006 and it was wonderful. We got into the park before it officially opened and it was so cool to be on Main Street without anyone else. Anyway, the tour guide gives you a little history, points out often overlooked features of mainstreet, adventureland, frontierland, and liberty square. You get to go on a couple rides and the guide explains certain features. Our rides were Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion, I guess we would have done Pirates too but it was closed for rehab. You get to go backstage by splash mt, and in a small portion of the utilidoors. The tour also included lunch at the Columbia Harbour House. It was definately worth it, especially since we've been there a lot, we still learned a lot though. The tour lasted about 3-4 hours.

We did it July of 2006 and it was one of the best Disney experiences we have ever had. Hopefully you will get Claire as your guide. She made it really special.

did it last summer, and my mom and i loved it. The guides are very knowledgeable about disney and were able to answer everyones questions. The utilidors are unreal, and the tour itself is amazing. It takes around four hours to complete, but is also worth every penny for price

There are plenty of resources to get all sorts of information on this:

As was said before, the price of $60 is reduced if you have AP or Disney Visa.
Tour is approximately 5 hours with a fair amount of walking. Lunch is included. These are some of the best and most dedicated tourguides at Disney. Each brings their own dynamic to the presentation, but are different enough that you wouldn't be bored in taking it again.

If you are a Disney lover this tour will be entertaining at the very least, but will almost assuredly offer some surprises that will stay with you.
If you need any additional details, feel free to PM me.

We took the tour March 2007 and loved it. Our tour was closer to five hours and filled with lots of information. Our tour guide took us to a few out of the way places to sit while she explained some things at the beginning of the tour, but the end of the tour was a lot of walking/standing in the utilidors and backstage. Despite the sore feet, I still enjoyed the tour very much!!!!

My mom and I took the tour on New Year's Eve 2007. Our tour guide was Tiny. He was awesome! He always told really funny stories and did a cool, "different" version of the Jungle Cruise. We jumped the whole line...obviously making everyone else on line a little bit angry.:ROFLOL:He also told us that the security guards have to do a ton of paperwork if they see someone "looking into the camera" for a certain period of time...of course, he had us wave at the camera as we passed.

I would recommend this tour to anyone.

In addition, I think that the Columbia Harbour House is one of the greatest, best-kept secrets in the Magic Kingdom!

I took it twice and I was pleased with it. If you don't know all the ins and outs of the park then you will really enjoy it. Most people on these forums though know a lot of the trivia and secrets going in so it isn't as groundbreaking. The utilidor part has gotten shorter though and really doesn't show much. You do get a good lunch at Columbia Harbour House included with the tour though.

How is does this tour compare to the Backstage Magic tour? I want to do one of them on my trip in October and am trying to decide which to do!

Thanks!

I would love to do this tour but seeing that our kids are to young, it will probably be years before I get to.

On another note, I saw on All Ears that they have a family tour. Anyone ever done this one? Is it worth it?

Backstage is I guess the ultimate tour for about $200. It takes pretty much the whole day (7-8 hrs) and covers three parks as well as some other behind the scenes areas. Lunch at MGM is also included. It does touch on some of what Key's does, but does not go into the detail of the MK due to time. It does provide a great view of the workings of the American Adventure in Epcot. If you have the time to spare, this one is great, but not mutually exclusive.

There are reviews here if you want more details, or you can wait and be surprised. As with most everything else, things do change, so there is a real possibility that specific points of a review may be changed in the future.

I have heard some very nice things about that tour. I was trying to find a great trip report about it from Laura22, you may try to PM her and ask for information or a link. Price is only around $30 (AP and Disney Visa discounts) and will give you some private character time as well.

there are also tours in Epcot, including a Land tour ($10 for kids) and, although pricy ($100 before discount), you can swim in the living seas with children as young as 8. It is a truly memorable experience.

Thanks for the info! I did see the swim with dolphin one. My dd would love that! Something to think about for maybe a bday or christmas gift some day.

Careful though...there is a dolphin interaction tour, but you don't swim with them at Disney. There are three tours at The Seas, Dolphins in depth, Aqua Tour (where the kids are allowed) and Divequest (that requires Scuba certification) If you want greater Dolphin interaction, I would suggest you look at SeaWorld.

My family and I just did the tour in June. I wrote a review in the wdwmagic review section. Our tour guide Daniel was awsome. Very informative. Btw we learned that you can fit 22 good sized adults in one IASW boat.:ROFLOL: I'm hoping to do the big one where you see most of the parks. I highly reccomend it.

It's not expensive and it's a lot of fun. I don't even know if I have a trip report for it anymore because it was hosted at a website I got rid of. You follow clues by acting goofy and meet characters at the end.

My parents and I did the tour March 2007. We had the early tour so we were in the park before anyone else. It was nice to see the park empty and we had some photo opportunities. We rode Pirates & Haunted Mansion (had to wait around 15 minutes for each ride, we didn't skip the line). We were taken backstage to see Woody without his full costume on and see some of the floats from SpectroMagic. We also went to the basement but in a corner where no action was happening. I really looked forward to this tour, unfortunately our tour guide wasn't that informative and didn't have that much spunk. We spent about an hour looking at the windows on Main Street. Between watching Disney specials on the Travel Channel and having Pal Mickey we basically knew everything that he said throughout the tour. Majority of the tour group was bored and wished they had learned more. The tour was very good and I recommend it, but we just had a bad tour guide.
