Not at all. Comedians should have the ability to make fun of everything and anything. Pete Davidson’s died on 9/11 and he jokes about it all the time. Whether you think it’s funny or appropriate or two separate things.

Fair. How about Matt Groening and Trey Parker/Matt Stone? Considering they've had their fair share of offensive jokes on Simpsons and South Park, are Matt G, Trey, and Matt S also jerks like Seth?

Dunno about Matt Groening, but Trey and Matt could be. I mean, they did make fun of Phil Colins multiple times because they were angry over "You'll Be In My Heart" getting the Oscar over "Blame Canada", which is really immature.

And don't forget they created a Tony award winning musical, The Book of Mormon, that made fun of a a whole religion. And it had some very naughty words! Very immature indeed.

Okay, to clarify: I used the word "jerk persona" in regard to McFarlane, which doesn't mean what some people here assume it means. "Persona" means the image a person presents to others, whether or not that image truly represents the person. Although McFarlane really isn't that popular in Hollywood. Remember when he hosted the Oscars in 2013 and sang that song "We saw your b**bs", referring to various actresses, including Meryl Streep? Yeah, didn't go over too well.

Hosting the Oscars is a tough gig. Anyone remember the classic Letterman bit with Oprah...Uma...Oprah...Uma anyone??? It didn't quite light the audience on fire.
