Kennedy Tours to the Launchpad

We're going to Orlando in April, around the time that the last Shuttle will be rolled out to Lauchpad 39 and I was wondering, do the tour busses go out to the launchpad area when the shuttles are out there.

I would love to see a shuttle for real, even from a distance, before this final one is launched.

Unfortunately we depart back to the UK 2 days prior to the launch, so this is the best option for seeing the shuttle for us.

I think the closest tours ever get is the Launch Complex (LC) 39 Observation Gantry.

The observation gantry is the closest you will get, but you get a good view from there. The shuttle is pretty big, so you can see quite a lot from a distance.

From my experiences from the gantry, you can only see the top 3/4 of the stack and not the orbiter itself. At least on 39A that is.

Hi, my db and i have been to orlando twice, to go to wdw, uni etc. Neither of us drive, are there coach tours that would take us to ksc for a day and back again.

It seems a shame that we come all the way from england and don't visit the space center but how would we get there without spending $$$$$$ on a private car?
