Kelly Clarkson does the Limbo

I think it's safe to say Kelly Clarkson is stuck in Limbo.

Normally shouldn't you cash in on your 30 seconds of fame. She had her one song and I feel with American Idol 2 right in the heat of things... her time is gone. Too bad they get such a lousy shaft after winning such an ultra-anxiety contest. Yes, I realize she has a movie and an album due out soon, but I think it's too little too late. I'm sure most of America is ready for the next big thing, and unfortunately for her, the show "essense" was much bigger than her. I feel her chance to shine has came and gone.

Now maybe she will come out with a whole host of great hits and regain her chance to be noticed, but somehow I don't think so. I think Avril lavene (sp?) is already stepping up to bat.

Opinions...

I think whenever she comes out with another single, she'll be back in the spotlight again. The number 1 problem with that damn "A Moment Like This" song is the fact that top 40 radio played it to the ground, like they do with most other songs they play. I dont want to turn this into another "top 40 radio sucks" thread, but I think that it's the main reason music is so temporary nowadays.

Yes, but it's the strike while the iron is hot philosophy. When the next idol is chosen don't you feel more people will be watching that person, and less on Kelly. They should have ran her ragged  since the last show ended... singles, appearances, tv spots, everything. Oh well, you are propably right, I just think they lost some sells steam by being so stale and waiting til the next contest was up and running before doing more with her.

I heard on the news that when she first was in college or something that she was in a 2 man gay o as a dominatrix and now it's all over the place. They showed still photographs from it, but not the film b/c of course, it's a . If this is infact legit, she's ruined!! Bye Bye Kelly!

She was even disqualified after the fact from winning b/c she released a demo when she was younger, and one of the main rules was you had to be "undiscovered". Justin won 4 months afterward by default, but you can't change television now can you?

Look it up on google.. you'll find tons of info if you don't believe me!

I got 2 words for you

Vanessa Williams

The Penthouse hoo-hah damaged her only for a little while. She is still around, and more in the public eye than any other former Miss America. And I believe one of her hits was a little something called "Colors of the Wind".......

i COMPLETELY agree, MicBat! i used to love current hits, but when i hear the same song like 3 times within an hour, i get a tad bit sick of it...that's why i rarely listen to the radio anymore. but that's another story.
i never have like 'a moment like this' since the first time i heard it...it sounds like every other damn song i've ever heard! and after my 5th time of hearing it, i was REALLY sick of it! i'm sorry, i don't like the American Idol series...it just makes me wonder about the stars of today...how much of a chance would Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, or Pink stand on that show? or even Madonna? if this series was around before she was a star, would she have won? but regardless, she's a timeless star now! makes me wonder how many stars are actually out there that either go home from the show empty handed or aren't on the show at all?
i should get back on track...as for Kelly, i don't really know if she'll be back or not...really, i don't care. that may sound harsh, but i don't. and i think i don't care because of the fact that #1. i don't like how she got her contract #2. i don't like the first song she came out with and #3. her song was played out within the first week it was released. but that's just me.

 :hurl:

Personally, I think the news about her already having a record deal was a work of some PR (public relations) guys trying to get her and American Idol back in the spot light.

I don't see her coming back big after she overworked her voice. My chorus director has a news clipping posted in her room about how Kelly's doctor ordered her to rest her voice, or else she could lose it permanently. She uses this as an example for why we should take our vitamins every day!

But what if Madonna, Britney, or someone else wasn't discovered until today? I think they would easily get lost in today's music as well.

Actually, the rumors of her having a deal were false. She hadn't done anything wrong...yet. She was working with someone, but hadn't recorded anything yet.

The show denies that she lost the competition. I think that should be the first thing to look at ;)

Also, the o she was in was a bit part. She literally had 2 words. "Why" and "ok". She was on screen for about 10 seconds, and had nothing to do with the plot. So no harm, no foul, I guess :)
