Trip Report KB's Solo Trip at Disney

Hi everyone, I am back from my trip.

Solo-ing at Disney is a good experience and I do recommend it.

*Note: I won't be doing anymore Pre-Trip Reports because I change my mind waaaay too much before trips. Only Trip Reports from me!

**Another note (edited): The first two days of my trip were great, but family matters happened the third morning and things kind of went slightly sour...yeah. Nothing with D. My own family, and that is all I am going to add about that.
Bad backstory and all...

*Cough*

Anywho, here is the short version of the trip. I will be adding the pictures and longer stories later, promise!

Tuesday, August 7th
Drove 7 hours to Disney
After arriving and checking in at the hotel, D and I went to Disney Springs. D bought a really cool hat at the hat store there and then we ate at Raglan Road.

Wednesday, August 8th | Magic Kingdom
Breakfast: Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort
Lunch: Be Our Guest QS

Thursday, August 9th | Animal Kingdom
This was supposed to be my day to go to Disney Springs, but I seriously lost a lot of interest in shopping this trip because of how much World of Disney changed...
So, at the last minute, I got permission from D to go to another park, and so I went to the Animal Kingdom.
Breakfast: Rainforest Cafe

Friday, August 10th | Epcot
Breakfast: Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort (yes, again...because I love this place)
Dinner: San Angel Inn

Saturday, August 11th | Magic Kingdom
Breakfast: Be Our Guest QS
Lunch: Be Our Guest QS

Sunday, August 12th
Drive Home

I can't help it! I love Be Our Guest. The food isn't the greatest (especially breakfast), but I love eating there, especially the West Wing. :inlove:

Alright folks. As soon as I get all of the pictures sorted and uploaded, I will be telling you more indepth of my solo trip!

Bye for now!

August 9th - Bought another park ticket for Animal Kingdom (continued)
After having Pizza at Pizzafari for lunch, I thought about going to ride Kilamanjaro safaris but instead checked for FP+s. Yay! Got one for the Safari and another for an extra ride for EE. (Yeah, those didn't happen...lol)

Let's go see some animals on the walking trails!

Sadly, all of the tigers were sleeping and not in plain site.

Now, to head for my FP+s. Or so I thought...

Do you see that there is nobody walking along the streets?

It was storming and raining hard! Lightening was awfully close and I was getting notifications on my phone's weather app of severe weather. After waiting 20 minutes in that side shop I was hiding under, I decided that I was ready to leave AK and braved the storm to head back to the hotel.

Speaking of the side shop, I found this little baby while waiting on the rain to subside.

My second souvenir

Very cool for carrying your bottled drink. It is insulated and has a strap for easy carry. (Saved me some dough the rest of the trip because I was able to save bottles and reuse them at water fountains.)

After getting back to the hotel, I grabbed some hotel grub and headed to the room because Day 2 at Disney was done!

August 10th - Epcot and My Favorite Drink
Let me preface this day by saying this was the morning that I opened up a very bad emotional wound more or less:grumpy:, so the pictures are going to be on the scarce side.

Don't worry, won't be doing that again.:depressed:
--------

I went back to Kona for breakfast (yes, again) but no Tonga Toast this time. I had some French Toast without a Mimosa. After eating breakfast, I walked through the Poly again and went through the souvenir shops.

I noted that the pin I got last year from the first floor souvenir shop at the Poly was nowhere to be found. I'm guessing this pin is now a collector's item because it is from the PoTC portion that doesn't exist anymore?

I really missed hearing this on PoTC:cry:

After walking around the shops and saying my 'goodbyes' and 'see you next times' to the Polynesian resort, I hopped on the monorail and headed to Epcot.

Had to get a quick shot of Space Mountain

My ADR was for dinner at the San Angel Inn, but it was lunch time not dinner time. So, I headed outside and ate at the La Hacienda (I think...it was the restaurant right across from the Aztec pyramid), which I have never eaten at before. The food is great!

I can't remember the name of what I ordered:facepalm:, but here is a pic of it.

I only got one more shot of World Showcase and that was from the drummers in Japan.

At this point, I rode Frozen twice, even waited in the long queues because I could.

Note: I actually enjoy the well themed queues at Disney. I always felt like the waiting through them was part of the ambiance of the ride itself.

After which, I walked through the World Showcase pavilion and then proceeded to head back to Future World where I was about to use my FP+ to ride Test Track. I noted that the Single Rider line was a lot quicker, and since I was by myself, I disregarded the FP and headed for the Single Rider line.

Test Track Single Rider Line Observation
In the Single Rider queue, when you go to customize your vehicle, ALL you can do is select the car. That is it. You can't change anything about it.

After riding Test Track, I wondered around a bit more and headed to the Land where I did use my FP for Living with the Land

...and these are the only pictures I took:rolleyes: Apparently I was very fascinated by the fact that I got the front row seat to myself

It was getting to a hard part of the day for me so I headed back to Mexico, rode The Three Caballeros boat ride and then walked around the shops until it was time for my ADR.

At this point in time, I was unfortunately very depressed from that morning's circumstances and missing D like nothing else. So my one and only ADR picture I got was of my favorite drink that I get every time I go to San Angel Inn.

The Avion Blanco Tequila

Such a good drink! And was very very tempted to get a second one, but I was by myself and knew I needed to be able to walk out of there, lol.

Fortunately, I can handle this simulator. Didn't make me dizzy at all, and enjoyed it sooo much that I got back in line to do it again. It was near park closing so there was only like a 10 minute standby wait.

And now, the finale of my Epcot day.

August 11th - Last day at Magic Kingdom, Be Our Guest
Last day at the Magic Kingdom and another last minute trip change. I booked Be Our Guest for breakfast and yes I already had an ADR for lunch there that day too.

:geek::inlove:

That morning I decided to Uber to Magic Kingdom which for Magic Kingdom trips, Uber will only take you to the Transportation and Ticket center where you can hop on a bus or the monorail.

The monorail was super packed so I caught the bus. That was my one and only bus ride for that trip.

Here are some pictures of...well, pictures from the shop next to Gaston's Tavern

Love this one, but I can't really afford the price tag on it

The ballroom is lovely, but my favorite room is the West Wing. I tried to eat there for lunch my first day at the Magic Kingdom but it was packed. However, I got the chance to eat here for breakfast and lunch:inlove:

I won't be riding this again. It was fun, but I got really dizzy afterwards.:hungover:

Went on Space Mountain again afterwards, but without a FP. So I waited in the 75 minute standby queue. Didn't mind at all. I love that they replaced those games with standard star windows, however you could tell they were standard and somewhat stretched because they were pixelated. However, they can do something about that new safety spiel. It got rather annoying, not to mention it overpowered the lovely queue music.

After my last adventures in Tomorrowland, I decided I was still in the queue-waiting mood, so I went to see the new queue for Peter Pan.

Meh. It was alright, but the Youtube video's of it made it look a lot nicer...which was odd. Usually it is the other way around:confused:

Finally, my last ride of the day was Splash Mountain. No pictures sadly, but I had an FP for it and got the front seat by myself.

I got soaked!!!

And then it started to rain, so I was soaked through and through.

After my Splash ride, D texted me about dinner. As much as I love Disney, I wanted to spend some time with D because we haven't seen each other much of the trip after Raglan Road:cry:.

So, I left Magic Kingdom that afternoon and headed back to the hotel.

- The End...Sort of -

I kind of missed one thing I did the first day :banghead: Forgive me!

I did stop for the Festival of Fantasy parade to see it in person (and got very sun burnt because yours truly forgot the sun scorches very fair skin easily to those who don't wear sunscreen).

It was really good and I love the performers that come in front of the floats. Maleficent in her dragon form was gone. In her place, was a moving gazebo with Aurora and her prince dancing. It was actually quite nice.

That's it guys. D's and my second trip will hopefully have a much better Trip Report following.

Thanks for reading!:)

On my solo trip back in May, I was also lucky to get the front row of the boat in LWTL. It was great to have an unobstructed view, and I also was able to take a few nice pictures in the various greenhouses.

Enjoyed your TR overall, and thank you for sharing. Glad you had fun! :)
