Kali River Rapids

I don't know if anyone else has thought about this, but I think it would be neat if they came in and made Kali River Rapids similar to the Roaring Rapids ride they're putting into Adventure Isle at Shanghai Disney. Kali needs some serious attention, or at the very least some TLC.

yep. Short, with little theming and zero thrill.

In my opinion it the most boring and short ride in WDW. Seriously needs an overhaul.

I recall seeing that the original concept of the ride was to have some viewing of live animals (Tigers!), but that ended up not being feasible / practical, so the theme got watered down a bit. It'd be great to add some "indoor" elements to the show with some AA's, similar to the concept art above. Maybe this gets some attention AFTER E:E gets attention AFTER Avatar opens! Fingers crossed...

Too short and you don't get wet enough. It's story is nonexistent as well. if they could make it bigger with a show building and a story involving this massive Croc that would be amazing.

Having ridden it in the dark in the middle of the night, I can say you aren't missing much. It is just as lame, unfortunately.

I do find I enjoy Expedition Everest quite a bit at night though! Seems to have quite a different feel to it in the dark.

They really should have made it more like DCA's Grizzly River Run. It's basically the same concept, but that ride is like twice as long as KRR; which is weird because it gets WAY hotter in FL than CA. So, why they thought it was a good idea to put the longer water ride in CA is beyond me???

It's really a shame because the queue is gorgeous. The story is there, too, but it doesn't transfer very well onto the ride. There's one scene with effects that don't always work. It's a far cry from what it could have been, but it's not a BAD ride.

I agree that the attraction at DCA is awesome, but the theme wouldn't fit into Asia. But some sort of Chinese Dragon*? like is pictured above would be nice. ...or the original "poacher" theme would be nice if executed the right way..

Agreed it could use some love. My Magic + has really lengthened the line on this, making a Fastpass basically required. Previously I've rarely seen a wait longer than 30 minutes, but on a warm day on my last trip (October 2014) the line was over 100 minutes.

I agree. The queue is awesome. It totally blows that it's such a huge build up to nothing :/

Yeah- the grizzly theme doesn't fit, but they could easily re-theme it like you said and expand it, and then it's a nice solid ride. AK is the largest of the parks land-wise, so it's not like they didn't have the space? I think it was just laziness or pushing things too soon??

You don't get wet enough? My family and I have had to leave DAK to change back at our resort 4 times before, after we got completely drenched on KRR. You must be lucky, I guess

OMG I always, always end up being the lucky mope going backwards down the hill into the GIANT wave and get soaked down to my drawers!
