We've never ridden Kali before...how do you keep your camera etc dry...is it enough to put it in a ziploc bag to keep it dry...I just am not sure how wet you get on this ride and don't want to ruin the camera...

in the middle of the circular raft is located a storage area for cameras, shoes, bags, etc. that has a plastic cover on it. You might want to wrap your camera in something though just for added protection.

I use a zip-lock freezer bag and put my camera in it and then it into my pack. They have a central bin into which you can put packages, I put the pack in there. The pack occasionally gets wet, but the camera has always been OK.

Depends on which seat your in. Some of them get completely drenched, others just a few splashes. Best not to risk it with your camera though. A heavy duty ziploc should be fine for most cameras unless your using a big SLR or something.

There's going to be a dry version as well.. the lines are split up half way down into a blue and a brown line...

People in the the blue line will get soaked, people in the brown line will stay absolutely dry...

People in the brown lines will step into special designed rafts which are covered with a canopy and have watertight doors...

After all those drownings on Kali I would suppose that sounds like a good option. I was nearly drowned myself when a wave of water covered me after a large unexpecteddrop. Disney seriously messed up on this ride. I would've sued but I turned out OK!

Don't even get me started on those water squirters that nearly made me BLIND!

The only thing that bothers me about Kali River Rapids is the fact that you can't put your shoes in the center compartment. I understand the reasons why they don't allow it, but I really hate walking around the parks with wet socks and shoes.

I usually wait until the CMs can't see me, and then I store my shoes and socks in the compartment, and then but them back on at the end of the ride.

But I don't have to worry about that this time, because it's going to be extremely hot and I will most likely be wearing sandals.

I've also been thinking about filming the ride, but I don't think I want to risk damaging my video camera.

I recall being completely soaked, or at least nearly soaked, but if you put your feet up on the circular bar in the middle of the "boat" you should be safe. The covered middle portion is pretty safe from water too. Our bags were dry.

I don't think I'd ever try filming the ride, it's really not that visually exciting, but I suppose you could put plastic over the camera with a hole poked in it for the lens.

This is exactly what I did, but my feet still ended up drenched with water. It just depends on where you're sitting.

Yeah, it really isn't that exciting. For some reason, I always thought that the ride was a lot longer than it actually is. To me, the queue is a lot more interesting to look at. Don't get me wrong, I love the ride, it's just not worth filming, especially with plastic over the video camera.

In autumn you may enjoy the brown line...
Maybe I can film the ride then. Are you sure that the watertight doors won't let any water in at all? I don't want to risk anything, especially getting my feet wet...
