Just when you thought there was no more money to be made in the parking lots

We've had parking price increases, premium parking, massively overpriced EV charging, and now Disney has found a new way to make money in the parking lots.

What's next, PhotoPass in the parking lot?

And yes, the poor CM's are holding menus and showing them to the passers buy.

How do you loose money on a Food Truck in a parking lot with plenty of foot traffic and no competition? Staff it with two workers and a manager as shown. Manager also needs some PPE as well.

I don't think it's that they wold lose money, it's that they wouldn't be making enough to satisfy the greed.

This is actually a GOOD idea, Can't count the number of times I've wanted a drink or coffee to enjoy on the way back to the hotel, I've got no problem with Disney making a buck like this heck they should be praised for doing it as it provides a service to the guest which did not exist in the past.

Must suck for a new seasonal or CP CM, thinking that they got hired to work for F&B inside the park only to be assigned in the parking lot golf cart...lol lol lol.

Actually I can see the main plus for this is it's a blessing for the CMs. I bet it's staffed not by park CMs but by CPs who normally would be just waving people to cars... I've always thought parking must be the most soul destroying job you can be assigned as you never even get to work in the parks.

At least selling water and snacks gives those CMs a bit of interaction with the public other than waving them into a space or finding a lost car, so if it helps make their day better I'm all for it, but visually it doesn't help change the narrative of Disney becoming a shanty town.

I wonder...if parking ops had this idea...when I worked on Main St. they added a new outdoor stand to sell hats, and I was told at the time that all decisions within the park as far as structures went through imagineering...I wonder if that is not the same in the parking lots (or even if that is true)

I'm actually shocked at how many of you guys are cool with the idea of the parking lot being turned into a food court. Hell, let's just slap the next D or E ticket ride out in the middle grassy area between the Heroes and Villains parking lots. After all, if we can't wait for a snack or drink then why wait to get into the park to ride something? And like others have said, a golf course beer cart? So much for being innovators.

Why on earth do they need this when there's already a &^%$# coffee/pasty/snack/whatever stand right next to the monorail station as you exit the park? This screams last-minute cash grab. And it shouts tacky from the highest rooftops. Let's try to separate every last penny from the guests before they make it out of the parking lot at the end of the day, cause geez, we're Disney and our customers are idiots.

This is what I was thinking after I posted. What? You can't make it from your car to the TTC without purchasing a bottle of water and a snack from a golf cart? The concessions at the entrances to the parks (and TTC) are nicely done and right there specifically for this purpose.

This is just a stop gap until you can order a drink and snacks anywhere on the property and it's delivered by a drone.
They have to get their Disney Springs show perfected first, then watch out for drink laden drones everywhere.
Do you think they might have Mickey Ears too?

I actually do not see any difference between this and the coffee stations at ttc or right outside the parks. Tjo

This seems absolutely convenient for the people who wake up at their resort and realize they have no bottled water or fruit in their room, then proceed to walk past all the areas of their hotel that sell bottled water, fruit and a myriad of other options, they hop in their car still completely thirsty then drive by 25 places where they could stop and get a drink (for far less than $3), then arrive and park their car, hop out and suddenly decide they need a bottle of water.... and low and behold, the used country club golf cart catches their eye and the solution to their parched state is at hand! Thanks TDO!
