This is only my second ever thread on these boards, although I do lurk almost every day and read the fab trip reports etc.

We were last in WDW for Easter 2012. We booked our 2013 trip the day after we got home!!

This will be our 7th trip to the World. We are there from Oct 31st to Nov 15th, staying in Saratoga Springs, Contemporary Resort( Magic Kingdom view) and (whisper) Royal Pacific at Universal.

We is Mum - Kerry 38, Dad - James 40, DS - Oliver 10, DD - Madison 6.

Our dining reservations are:

Nov 1st - Dinner at Tony Town Square
Nov 2nd - Dinner at Via Napoli
Nov 3rd - Lunch at Tusker House
Nov 5th - Breakfast at Akershus
Nov 7th - Dinner at Cinderella Royal Table
Nov 8th - Dinner at Be Our Guset
Nov 9th - Breakfast at Chef Mickeys
Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern

We have got the free dining thing offered to us Brits. So we have 9 table service credits that we have booked as above.

We are also booked in for Halloween party on Nov 1st, Christmas party on Nov 8th and Perfect Princess party on Nov 7th.

We haven't told kids about holiday this time so have had to guess at what they would like from previous visits.

Looks great and have a magical time. The only thing I would change is go to Crystal Palace instead of Tony's if you can switch. The food is better at CP and the whole family will love Pooh and friends!!!!!!!!

Hello Figment, we did wonder about Crystal Palace. Have done it three times before for breakfast, but never for dinner. What kind of food items are offered, as DD is very picky.

Hello Luv, me and DH are very excited now. We are springing kids day before we go.

Any ideas on how to tell them in style.
Dinner is also a buffet they have a carving station lots of salads and sides the regular buffet stuff for kids nuggets fries etc, fresh fruit, lots of desert choices. There's something for everyone. I haven't been to Tony's in a while last time I was dissapointed and the reviews are so so at best.

Since you are wondering, I'll say it: Tony's is never good. It isn't horrible, it just isn't good. You'd do much better (for much less money) at the Olive Garden.

I'd go to the Plaza or Crystal Palace before Tony's. heck, I'd grab a burger at Pecos Bill's before I'd go to Tony's.

I didn't say so before because you didn't ask for opinions. I do think that if you want to go, anyway, and find out for yourself, then you should do that. :)

But you were warned! :D

We normally eat at Tonys on every visit. It is our little tradition thing. I quite like it, but wouldn't be upset about switching to Crystal palace. Plus there is the Bear!!

We normally go to Le Cellier, but switched that to Via Napoli for a change. Never eaten in there before. Tusker and BOG are also new to us. Have had lunch at Akershus but never breakfast. And have had Breakfast and lunch at Cindys but never dinner.

mmmm getting hungry thinking about it.

Theres a variety of choices so even the most picky of kids can find enough to choose from. We first went there during my son's picky phase and he was one who would only eat a burger and we were amazed at what he shovelled in. Made 3 trips back to the buffet!!!
Pooh's Corner (Kid's Buffet):

Kid's Italian Meatballs and Pasta
Kid's Macaroni and Cheese
Kid's Fried Chicken Nuggets
Kid Friendly Vegetables

Regular Buffet

Spit-roasted Carved Meats
Spice Boiled Shrimp
Array of Salads
Chicken, Beef, Fish and Vegetable items.
House-made Sweets and Ice Cream
Freshly Prepared Pasta
Seasonal Fresh Fruit
Crystal Palace touts a “live, on-stage kitchen,” meaning cast members will prepare some customized items for you, such as pastas and/or omelets.

I only have one question about this: We you adopt a 41 yr old man? I have my own ticket so I can just sleep on your floor and drink at the Rose and Crown.

Hello. morning has broken and checking my replies.

Jiminy thanks so much for the list, that looks like an option. As we are there until the 15th Nov we are going to add Crystal Palace on another day and just pay for it.

Mousedreaming - we also love Liberty Tree, and eat there most times now, although this will be our first dinner. Usually have lunch and never been disappointed.

Derelicte we have never had Via Napoli, so very exited as we all love italian food, and of course we eat pizza like the best of them.

Killnme - I checked with husband and he said fine as long as you dont hog the Tigger meet and greets, as that is his best thing to do. Oh and Alice is his girl also. LOL!

Shookie - we have done MNSSHP twice before, so hubby said just do MVMCP. I fluttered my eyelashes and said how about both as never done MVMCP but didnt want to give up halloween - free candy! Anyway I won and we booked both. GabbyLynn on reservations even made a comment. So I know hot choc and snow is the draw, but what else happens. Is it true that the princesses all have prince, as DD would love to meet Flynn. And ask what is in his satchel. See how I pay attention there!

Plan a Disney-themed Dinner & Movie night.
Movie: Any Disney DVD you own/rent or watch the Disney Vacation Planning DVD or find one on youtube.com with the MNSSHP and/or MVMCP parades/shows.

Here's one of the days I put together for my GS8...it's for our next trip in October. I created some Dinner & Movie nights and his parents are doing one every 25 days.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween (Hocus Pocus & Halloweentown)
Menu:
Mummy Dogs (Cresent-roll wrapped hotdogs…add bacon and cheese and then bake)
Franken Tots w/Slime (tater tots w/green ketchup)
Mickey-shaped Rice Krispie treats (dip ears in chocolate or candy melts of orange)
Bubbly Brew (soda in a pot…dry ice)
Movie Snack:
Apple Cider
Halloween cookies
Witch’s Fingers (Bugles)
HP Cheetos
HP Clark Bars
Decorations:
Anything Halloween and add some Disney to it…spider webs and spiders
Halloween-themed plates and utensils
Candles (watch the movie in candlelight)
Activity:
Witch’s Broomstick Race…use broom, mop, vacuum, etc…

Hi littleroo. we are so excited now also. Trip report - now you are talking.

Disvillain- wow some great stuff there. How cool. I already have for my DS a mickey halloween top, a splash mountain figurine, snowman vinylmation, candy cane vinylmation. For DD I have halloween lanyard and will get pins etc. Going to do them a disney surprise box. That theme night is a great idea, so we can spring it on them. Cheers.

Your surprise box sounds like a combination of your special nights. Here's the Nightmare Before Christmas idea (combo of Halloween & Christmas):

Nightmare Before Christmas
Menu:
Pumpkin King Pizza (use pepperoni on round pizza to create a face)
Jack O’Lantern Fruit Cups (hollow out an orange, carve a face, fill w/fruit cocktail)
Mini-pumpkin pies
Hot Chocolate w/Pumpkin Peep
Movie Snacks:
Corpse Corn: popcorn w/candy corn
Plums
Activity:
Carve a Jack O’Lantern
Decorate Christmas cookies w/Halloween colors or Halloween cookies w/Christmas
colors
