I can honestly say I'm not a fan.

I'm a pro musician myself and for all the music in the world that is out there to use for this show this year, Disney failed, IMHO.

It seems too hip-hop, techno-y, too much pop music. Doesn't seem too Halloween spirited musically. :(

I skipped through the video to see if got any better and it didn't. I loved the parts with the Haunted Mansion and such for audio, but the fireworks didn't seem to go too much with what was going on musically and with the dialogue for that matter.

What does everyone else think? I'm not trying to start anything, I'm just seeing what other peoples opinion are.

You must have seen a crappy video because Hallowishes is spectacular.

I have no idea what on earth Hip-Hop or "Techno-y" music you're talking about, there is nothing of the sort at all whatsoever in any form in the show. And the fireworks go with the music wonderfully. (Certainly fifty-thousand times better than regular wishes)

Honestly Hallowishes and Boo-to-You are worth all the hullabaloo of the Halloween Parties in my opinion.

I think the OP, and my DBF is talking about the washed up sounding pop music versions that is used. What is wrong with just using the music from the movies themselves? And I believe he never said anything about Boo to you. Boo to you is the best parade ever besides Spectro.

And I don't know when you have ever seen the original wishes that it doesn't fit with the fireworks, because on multiple occasions I could say you are wrong.
At least in the original wishes, they don't use crappy Pop versions of music. I myself was SOOO excited to see Hallowishes, and then the Backstreet Boys sounding versions of the Disney classics started playing and I was like "gag"

An Upbeat arrangement doesn't make any of the music pop, techno, or hip hop. You have to re-arrange and re-record music for parades and fireworks, otherwise it wouldn't work, and since it's supposed to be a party upbeat makes sense. You don't hear them playing the original Cruella Deville or Grim Grinning Ghosts on Main Street during the parties either, you hear more upbeat arrangements. That's the mood that was chosen for the Halloween Parties and I think it works wonderfully.

I wasn't talking about the arrangements. I was talking about the singers. I don't have a problem with them being UPBEAT, it's the pop sounding crappy singers that is the problem.

Has it changed?

Hallowishes is not music I'd care to hear at home, but it works when you're in the park. Boo to You, as well.

Some Disney music or songs can stand alone very well. Some can't. Hallowishes, IMO, is one of those things.

I saw Hallo-wishes for the first time this year and absolutely loved it! I have watched videos of it in the past but seeing it in person was great. It's definitely a different feeling then Wishes but it's clearly meant to. Overall I thought MNSSHP was fantastic, especially the parade! Just loved seeing all of the characters you never get to see!

It is very different from the "classic Disney" sound, I agree. I think the fireworks are spectacular. Does it affect me emotionally like most other Disney shows? Nope. But it Halloween, it's fun, and it's pretty aimed to the kids at the Halloween party, which it should be.

I think that calling it "Hallo-WISHES" did a dis-service to the Halloween Fireworks. It is hard for people (myself included) to watch fireworks at the castle and not see/hear that magical, Wishes type of show.

The Hallo-Wishes show is a Halloween Themed Fireworks show, not a Wishes-esk Fireworks show. If you can make that distinction, I think you can enjoy Hallo-Wishes a little bit more.
