Just plain weird

I was in the Magic Kingdom yesterday and while walking through the HUB in front of the castle at 8pm, a funny smell was in the air. I noticed three teens and they looked a little worn. The smell was coming from one of them and it was nasty. Then I noticed the girl had a large rat sitting on her shoulder under her hair. We were behind them for a while until the smell was too much and this rat was just crawling around in her hair. I find it hard to believe someone would bring something like this into the park. But also find it hard to believe that a cast member would not notice it. I should of took a picture but was too busy trying to show my kids.

Has anyone ever seen something like this before. With people bringing pets into the park.

Oh my God!

This would have freaked me out! I have a HUGE rat phobia (really- nothing else bothers me but rats- closed spaces, snakes, flying- none of that is a big deal), so I would have really lost it seeing a rat in someone's hair. The very thought!

Incidentally, this is the reason I won't go see Ratatouille, even though the film looks pretty good.

The only reason I can think of why they had it was because they considered it a "service" animal. You can go to GR of any park and fill out something so you are allowed to walk around the parks with animals. I've seen dogs, and snakes before. It's usually a comfort thing for any ill guests.

They were not your average Disney visitor, by the way they dressed. The girl had the rat up under her long hair. I only noticed due to the smell of what I think was rat urine. I just thought they were dirty until the long rat tail came out of her hair. And after walking behind them the rat started to crawl around sticking it's head out from under her hair. If they had been in the park all day, how did the rat relieve itself. I don't think you can potty train a rat. I would have hate to be stuck on a ride with them. After thinking about it, I should have stopped a cast member and pointed it out.

I had a rat as a pet (bought it from a pet store, not from the sewer) and unless this thing regularly used her hair as its own personal toilet bowl I'm pretty sure your not going to smell rat ______ just walking by.

It was about 90 degrees and I was about 5 feet from her and something smelled bad. It smelled like a dirty pet store. If someone was walking around all day with a rat on their person, where would a rat go. I don't think they are potty trained.
