Just made reservations! Boardwalk question...

I just made ressies for a weekend getaway at the Boardwalk the last weekend in Feb. It will be my first time staying there and I was told on the phone when making the reservation by the CM that the Luna Pool Slide was under construction til sometime in March and would be closed when we were there. He said the rest of the pool would be open. Now, lets assume it will be warm enough to swim :)lookaroun), I've read before that the Luna Pool is somewhat of a mini-water park and the slide is a type of water coaster. Is there anything else "cool" about the pool area besides the closed water slide? I have an almost 3 year old that loves pools and I know I'm looking forward to it, but was just wondering if anyone had any more info on it.

I also booked a 3 night stay in late March over my daughters 3rd birthday at Old Key West!! YAY!!!

You would think I'd be okay staying away from the World for a while since we were there for 3 seperate trips between mid-Sept and late Oct...but no...I've got the ITCH!!! The countdown is ON!!! :D

The great news about the slide being under construction is you will be able to use the Yacht/Beach club stormalong bay pool! I'm sure you realize its a huge pool with a sand bottom and also has a pirate ship with water slide. I'm 99% sure that if the pool/slide is not in commission then you can use stormalong. I will call to be 100%.

When the Luna pool itself was closed, they bused people to Stormalong Bay, but I dont think they are doing that for just the slide refurb. The page on WDWMagic regarding the pool closure last fall mentioned the use of Stormalong, but the same page for the slide closure does not mention it at all. It is worth a call, but my guess is you may be slideless.

That being said, the slide would probably be too big for a nearly 3 year old anyway, and the pool itself is pretty cool. It has elephants that spray water like a small waterpark, so if your daughter is like mine, she will love that.

I didn't think about Stormalong Bay! That's a cool possibility! I will definitely try to find out if we can use it! We stayed at the Beach Club once on our honeymoon 11 years ago and I picked that resort just we could check out that pool. I didn't check ahead of time and when we got there, Stormalong Bay was closed for refurb! I was so bummed! Back then, handy little websites like this one weren't at our fingertips to get quick info like that :D !

And yes, my 3 year old will LOVE the elephant sprinklers! I was hoping for something like that for her. The Luna slide I'm sure would have been too big for her. She spins around just going down a smaller one like the ones at Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge! She gets a little freaked out at first, but then runs back for more! She has no fear...

Thanks for the help guys!

I thought that anytime the Luna Pool slide was clsoed that you could use Stormalong Bay, defintiely check that at the BW.

Enjoy, BWV is our favorite resort!

Almost positive this is the case. Besides for the walk over to the Yacht/Beach Club you definitely come out a winner getting to go over to SAB.
