Ho folks

Have an inside stateroom booked on the Fantasy for next August and so glad we booked early as the prices have shot up in the last month!!

Would this be because of The Virtual Portholes??

We are looking 4ward to seeing it but we would have booked the inside stateroom either way!

You guys who have seen them, how do you find them? Good fun and a great add to the rooms or just a gimmick??

They are so good that Hollybelle and her hubby went back to the stateroom just to watch the virtual porthole ( Hi Holly!) and they are so good that people are often choosing to pay more for an inside room rather than take a cheaper outside room.

I've seen them and they are awesome.

If it has your recommendation it should be tops!! We wouldnever be botherd with a porthole room, maybe a verandah at some stage but for now the virtual porthole is sounding pretty good :sohappy:

HI,

Wife and I just came off a DREAM cruise this past May. We had a room, delux state room w/virtual porthole. VERY NICE! At night you can turn it off so you don't have the static light on in the room. Yes at night the porthole does not show much but HEY it's dark out.

BUT during the day you can see greatly outside as if your room is on the outer part of the ship. The quality and picture is very HD. It is a very nice touch. Last year we cruised on the Wonder and had a deluxe state room too but less the porthole. This year the virtual porthole just "plus'ed" the experience.

They did some great things on the DREAM ship. The Aqua-Duck ride is awesome too!!!

Next year we opted for the next bump in room with the real porthole on another deck. We thought about a room with a veranda but don't want to risk un-rulley neighbors with kids who stand out on their veranda and scream into the night in some foreign tougue... :( Anyway - it's the DREAM again for us and we can hardly wait!

Enjoy!

Got a bit confused for a minute there, wondering why a cruise ship would have 'virtual potholes'. Like the real ones aren't annoying enough, why would they try to recreate them?!

Not sure if I'm getting old, or have just been sat at this monitor too long (and yes, I know this isn't getting any work done).

We usually have a room with a verandah (so nice for room service breakfast in the Caribbean :king: ), but we purposely booked the inside room with the porthole and it was really very fun. The view is terrific (HD, of course) and the animations are very fun for the kids (even my 16 year old).

The only problem is that the number of deluxe inside staterooms (with the split bathroom) on the Dream is very limited. I think it's less than 20. So if your family requires the split bathroom, you may have a tough time getting what you want.

We've got two inside staterooms booked up (cruise in a couple of weeks...almost literally, two weeks to go tomorrow) but for the next cruise my dad wants to do two verandah's.

I haven't seen the portholes yet but I'm excited to check them out.

Anyone take movies of them? If so how did they turn out?
