Just how expensive is Victoria & Alberts?

Agreed. We are both vegetarian, and I am nearly vegan. The chef will prepare an amazing meal. Well worth every penny.

Remy on the Dream and Fantasy is just as amazing. We had a meal on the fantasy that was damn near the scene with Meg Ryan from When Harry met Sally. After three hours of course after course, we both needed a nap....

I love Remy, too. I liked it better than V&A for the vegetarian eater, but my husband thinks V&A is slightly better than Remy for carnivores. We had a table next to a window--beautiful.

My daughter said the total for their 7 course meal in the dining room was over $500 for the two of them. Must have been the champagne...

Agree. That meal at Remy's on the Dream was a gastronome's nirvana. I was so full and happy (and a tad tipsy from the bottles of wine), I didn't flinch when the waiter handed me the portion of the bill I had to pay beyond the $85 upcharge per person.

So excited to try! One of my favorite meals at WDW was at California Grill--the chef came to the table when he heard I was vegetarian and asked what I wanted to eat (wh...?) He made me the best meal where he prepared of all these small plates of basically all the side dishes that came with the entrees. Sooooo good! I can only imagine how delicious V&A will be :hungry:

Ok...must book Remy too! We're on the Fantasy for 1-week before coming to WDW in Oct. I didn't bother last year because the sample menu I looked at online looked like a pasta (sorry, as a vegetarian, you get mighty sick of eating nothing but pasta when you go out)! But I should know that if they will accommodate me in the main dining room on the ship, then Remy must be just as good, if not way better! Our server noticed I started to pick at my food by about the 3rd day and kept asking what he could bring me. I kept telling him it was fine but he wouldn't relent and finally asked iwhat my favorite type of food to "eat out" was (Indian) and for the rest of the cruise, I had the BEST Indian food--homemad naan, daal, panner and curries. I'm amazed at the service Disney goes to for special diets :)

The Indian menu in the main dining rooms is a hidden gem. Since a large number of the crew are Indian, they make it authentic and awesome!

They can also do many dishes with tofu. They made lemon pepper tofu for us, and the kids like it so much I make it at home. I spent quite some time working on the ships, so I learned what they could do. Some of the main course vegetarian meals are good. Some, not so much. They were always accommodating, but I was always respectful that they had a bazillion meals to make. Giving them a day's advance notice helps.

I typically bring along some primal strips vegan jerky for quick protein filled snacks and sometimes a protein powder for a quick shake. A few of the bartenders would throw it into a blender with some fruit and coconut/soy milk when I was in a pinch.

Palo even made my son a tofu and barbecue calzone for his first adult trip. He has odd tastes, so we only took him since we are all platinum. He did not make the cut for Remy...

Love primal strips (and Stonewalls jerky). Good tip about the protein powder, although I actually felt like I got a good amount of protein on the ship compared to when we usually go on vacation. Will definitely be adding these to our trip come Oct.

Love primal strips! And my new thing with the protein powder is to mix it with sugar free non dairy cool whip. It thickens it up a bit and makes a nice mousse!

Shooting for V&A - possibly the Chef's table - Sept 2017

After reading this, I am excited and hopeful to get a room for when I go in 2017. I am currently planning on June 5-16, and our anniversary is on the 7th, but my wife's birthday is on June 14th. Realistically, with the 180 day window, do you think it is possible to get a Chef's Table reservation for my 3rd night there or should I try for the 14th? (as my first two choices)

I've swung and missed 5 trips trying to get the chef table.... I always end of in the Victoria Room instead which will be amazing as well.... Food for thought.

If you want to make it a priority I'd honestly shoot for any night you are there

Anything is possible. We were able to grab it for our anniversary last March. We were actually only looking for QV room, since we had already been to the regular dining room a few times, but the CM said the CT was open, and would we like that instead. Heck, yes!!!

Was absolutely the best meal we had ever had. Chef Aimee is wonderful! Chef Hunnel was off that night, so hoping that next time we can snag a day that he is working.
