I too just got back lat night and had the opposite experience! Yes we ran into many cheerleading and football teams, but none that we saw were rude or out of line in anyway! We syruck up several conversations with the kids and their parents and they were all very nice! I honestly think I ran into more rude CM's this trip!

if I were betting man, you got lucky... I've read too many brutal stories.

also, I have to agree with the international guests, maybe there is a cultural difference.

my story and personal experience... March 2010:

my girlfriend and I got to AK ASAP, saw the opening Mickey Parade (we were right next to the ropes, first in line). When the parade concluded we made a B line to the Safari (with hopes of seeing the best animals first thing in the AM). We get in line, maybe a 10 minute wait... well, out of nowhere this asian family just cuts past us and my first thought was well, ok maybe they have some family down the line. I watch them get about 15-20 feet from the boarding areas then just stop. They had no family, they just CUT about 100-150 people! My jaw was on the ground!

We just got back from our first trip last week. We had a wonderful time. All the CM's were very nice and helpful. As for the POP warner players and cheerleaders we only noticed them in the evenings on the bus and they all seemed well behaved. We did encounter a few rude people but we didn't let that spoil our trip becuase we deal with that everywhere, the grocery store, the mall, not just at Disney.

i wish more people had the same attitude you do. don't let people spoil anything. i feel sometimes this thread is used just to complain about other people's actions. why dont we post more about what was great about our trips?

I don't buy any of that for one second. I took TONS of pictures, and every employee was pretty nice. No one pushed merchandise sales, no one was rude, it was pretty clean. If asking someone "may I help you find something" is considered being pushy, then you have some serious issues. I am beginning to think people are making up some of the negative experiences they have at Universal to justify a reason not to go back.

So because you didn't personally experience it, it couldn't have happened? I, personally, had an absolutely crappy time a couple years ago at US/IOA. It was so bad, we left the parks half way through the day. It wasn't guests. It was employees. They were just down right rude and ugly. There have been times we were at IOA/US and there was trash everywhere. Trash cans were overflowing. Is it possible they had a week of too many people calling out? Yes. Does it change the fact that there was trash? No. Personally, I've never exp the pushy employees. In fact, I've seen the opposite. Employees just standing in corners or behind counters not interacting with guests at all.

I always wonder how much of this is down to expectation, I always see it when it comes to describing how far away a room is from the central facilities, one mans marathon distance is anothers, quiet stroll.

News Flash - welcome to society.... Basically what I am reading here is that teens at WDW acted like they normally do and you were shocked it happened because you were on Disney property? I have 2 twenty somethings that I strictly raised to be polited and respectful, having said that I can honestly tell you that as they were going through their teen years I was often horrified at some of the things that came out of the mouths of their friends. (I am sure mine have done similiar when I was not around to hear it). Teens get worse and worse with each generation. Blame it on the parents because we all "are not going to treat our kids the way we got treated". A lot of teens come from homes where you don't find the best supervision. I always say to myself "I never would have dreamed of doing these things when I was a teen" but then I wonder if maybe given the opportunity who knows..... I think it is unfair to blame Disney for the actions of these kids. I am sure they did the best they could. As for the CMs, I can only imagine how many complaints they were receiving by the hour.

We were there last week also and overall it was a really good experience. We only ran into problems our very first day - last Sunday. We were at Epcot and on two different rides we were behind the same huge cheerleading group. Teenagers will be teenagers - however, it was the parents behavior that had us frustrated. The things they allowed their kids to do and hold up lines.

Then when we went into the fast pass line for Soarin - they apparantly had all gotten fast passes and didn't return at the same time. So, when the people in their group showed up later, they kept pushing through the line and up to rest of their group (in front of us). It was a HUGE group of cheerleaders and their parents. Finally, when another group tried to cut, the couple behind us stopped them and the group got mad at her! Saying, but we all have the same fast pass return time. They continued arguing back and forth, very loudly. The group then made us all go in front of them so that they could all be together. There must have been 50 of them in the end - it was a huge group! Thankfully we were on opposite sides after that!

Other than that, rest of the week was fine. We really enjoyed our first Christmas Disney trip. Well, other than the really cold mornings and nights.

That's correct. A park isn't automatically going to be consistently clean for one guest and overflowing with trash for another. And though customer service can be inconsistent from guest to guest, the widespread problem you describe would be experienced by everyone. So no, I don't believe you for a second. You simply hate Universal for whater illogical reason you come up with, and maybe one or two disinterested employees is translating to an epidemic of bad employees, and maybe one or two pieces of garbage on the ground and one or two full trash containers during the lunch rush seems to make it a dirty park.
