We had an absolutely amazing time. Fay didn't stop us, but she did alter our plans a bit. We had planned to go to AK on Monday and MK on Tuesday. We ended up skipping AK (which was our 2nd day there) and went to MK instead. We did this just in case the parks closed on Tuesday, which they didn't. We ended up with 2 great days at MK. Monday was nice and sunny and Tuesday we headed over at noon and it was like a ghost town. We think many people stayed at their resorts but we didn't and the rain didn't even really come until dinner time. We had dinner at the castle and when we came out (about 7:30pm) we thought the park was closed. There was no one there! Even the wait time board was blank because nothing had a wait. There were CMs playing hola-hoop in the rain on Main Street. It was cute.

We only ran into 1 snafu. When travelling with a large group, skip the "order off the menu" table service places. There were 13 of us at Le Cellier and were there for 2 hours. The same 13 of us were at Liberty Tree Tavern and that was an hour. If you don't want to waste precious park time, do the family styles and buffets.

I'll do a more formal trip report over the weekend.

You help prove the theory that awful weather can often be the best time to hit the parks, since families (especially those with young kids) often prefer to stay in the hotel on those days.

Glad you had a great time. I was there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before Fay showed up. We had fairly heavy crowds, but the weather was good because it was cloudy and breezy, thus not too hot.

It's possible, but even before the rain we didn't think it was that busy. If you want the thrill rides, use FP other than that you'll be fine.

If you stayed on site did you have a bounch-back brochure in the room? If so, what was the offer?
There was nothing and I was hoping for one. We got APs while we were there because we are planning to go back in December. If there was a Bounceback we were going to try to go again before passes expire, but it's looking like a 3rd trip in a year is not in the cards.

I was at MK on Tuesday as well in the afternoon til closing. It was unbelievable. Rode Splash Mountain 4 times in a row without getting off! Never before have I seen Space Mountain say 5 minutes until then. It was so empty they closed one side of Space Mountain and let some of the CM's go home and the other side was waiting for people to ride. Amazing day!!!!!!!

Disney, Aug. 18 - 22. Our Fay trip

The weather was wet, rainy, and windy but we had the best of times. We arrived at each park by 9:00a and parked as close to the entrance as possible. I have never parked this close before in all of our visits. Lines either didn't exist or very minimal. We felt we had the run of each park until about midday, when others decided to visit the parks. With our ponchos on off we went. IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE. :sohappy:
My wife and I will be back to the WORLD Nov. 29-Dec.7 for the holiday decorations and fun.:xmas:
