I also think that Space Mtn is much brighter than it used to be. I remember several years ago that it was DARK, you couldn't see anything. My last two trips (2002, 2003) you could see everything even if you walked in with no waits.

I hope it's now going back to the darker version since that gives you a better ride!

I just noticed that the word "notice" has appeared 8 times now. Did anyone else notice that? (9) ... lol ha ha

Anyway, thanks for the update .. and for making me jealous of your trip :)

If you want space mountain to be really dark just close your eyes, and sit in the back. That's what I do cause you never know where your going next.

You have to ride it in the front as well with your eyes closed because it's just as great. I remember several years ago (either 96 or 98) I could see the track and it upset me because I didn't want to know where I was going. Another time, someone's medicine fell out of their bag somewhere on the track and they had to turn the lights on and I got to see the whole ride lit up. Yes, I guess that was kinda cool to see it on since not many people do, but it still takes a little piece of the magic away. I hope that when I go the end of this month it is pitch black and I can't see the track or where I am going, with my eyes open! SM has always been one of my favorite rides and it will continue to be even if it isn't darker!

"doombuggie" did you ride the carousel of progress? I'm just wondering how that was doing. I heard a horrible account that the mustache of father in ACT IV has fallen off!

It was darker in December 03' when I went. I could see the space specks (disco ball) light on the tracks only and it mixed so well with the surrounding darkness, what a ride. Every turn was a suprise like it use to be.
