We arrived at POR Riverside on Tuesday at about 2:30 and were able to check right in. The room was nice and we thought the whole resort was beautiful! it was very family oriented and relaxing. We changed clothes and headed right for Epcot (since it was open latest) The bus was already sitting there when we got to the bus stop at the resort. We hopped on (there were only 7 people on the bus and we had 5 in our group) At Epcot, crowds were so light, I was shocked! We picked up a stroller and went right to spaceship earth. The kids and dh were amazed and they all loved it. We made our rounds up front and walked straight on test track, honey I shrunk the audience, Imagination etc. We did not wait in line over 5 minutes anywhere. It was very warm and humid, about 91 degrees. At about 6pm, it started to rain. It rained and it poured with lightening and thunder for over two hours. During that time, we decided to get something to eat at Innovations. Finally, at about 8:30 the rain stopped and although it was still humid, there was a nice breeze. We had missed the parade (if they even had it) and decided to take a quick stroll around world showcase (just to see the outside areas) I figured it was much too late to get a good view for Illuminations...While making our way around, I noticed that all of the good seating areas were still open so we parked ourselves front and center 15 minutes before showtime!! Illuminations was awesome and we left Epcot that night so excited for the next day. We headed back to POR and got on the bus immediately with no waiting. It was a little after 10 so we decided just to head to bed and get an early start in the morning. I realized as I was going to sleep that we had not seen one character that day.
