Well we had a great trip..stayed at POR maybe for the last time (which we had a great stay) But after 10 years of seeing the DVC stands ..we are now part of the DVC club...ohhh so excited!!!!!!! Saratoga is gorgeous!!! but anyway weather was hot especially the last day which was SAt the 23rd and crowds last Sat were crazy....BUt for the week we were there which was Sept 15-23 it was great....no lines ..walked on everest , and splash, space and thunder mountain.....Oh and luvbugs were more than usual crazy everywhere..which from what the CMs said they were more than usual out..Pirates ride....OMG the Captain jack is unbelievable...looks so real....we went to MNSSHP twice on the 15 (which it rained) and the 22 all I can say was the fireworks are unbeilvable which was why we went again....it really is something to see!!! lots of candy!!!! Oh and we did go one morning to the magical beginings....very cool...our girls got to play ball with donald, daisy ,minnie and mickey mouse...we are hoping that they'll be in a Disney vaction planning video because they were taping the kids playing and we had to sign a waver form....(oh that would cool)!!! Sorry if this is all over the place but I wanted to get everything in!!!But yes we had a great time...I seem to think maybe I ran into other WDWMAGIC members in the pool at POR but felt too much like a to ask!!! . But yes we're exaused...had fun....and oh by the way we did see the first day without the big ole clock on the castle..yes it seems naked...but its nice to see it back to normal...so feel free if any one has any questions....Oh and also don't know if anyone noticed that I quess they are trying to phase out sandwhiches(premade ones) fruit and cheese platters that the resorts make...yeah we were disappointed when we went to the fridgerated area at POR and they no longer make the sandwhiches or cheese platters themselves...my husband asked one of the cms and they said send out for that stuff now..... (which they stink)!! OK I"m done now...

YAHOO I"M FINALLY A DVC MEMBER!!!!!:sohappy: WE KNOW THE SECRET!!!!!!

Glad to see

Glad to see you had fun .My gf's family are dvc members end of august we stayed at saratoga. ITs an awesome resort.

When you go try to stay at congress aprk .ITs right on the lake/pond right across from downtown disney .ITs great swiming at night listening to the music from pleasure island.

One warnign about saratoga springs. THe resort is always the last resort to be picked up at the parks. When we were there I am not joking every night we were the last resort to be picked up. The person who was keeping track of the bus times just made a nasty comemnt to me when I asked him why was this resort always last.

I'm glad that you had a great time! I've got a question...

Did you eat at any of the Table Service Restaurants? A friend of mine was in WDW from Sept 9-16 and said that it wsn't busy at that time either, but said it seemed like everyone down there was using the dining plan, so the table service restaurants seemed busier than normal.

He said the only ride w/ a long(er) wait was Everest - about 30min +.

I'll be down there this Friday too - can hardly wait!!!

Hey Cindyrella - where are you staying?

Welcome Back

Glad you joined DVC . We were the 300th people to join in 1991. OKY was not ever built just a model. We have never made a better choice for vacation . We watch out kids grow up with trips 2-3 times a year. Heading back on Saturday with my 24 year old and my Mother-In_law and my wife for the some Wine and Food at EPCOT fun.

5 more day's of work:brick:

Then a week of being back home at OKW

Welcome to the DVC family. We only joined 2 years ago but have loved everything about it so far. You must stay at the Beach CLub once to let you family enjoy the great pools.

Sounds like a great trip we just got back as well ,on 9/11. But are heading back in mid December :xmas:

We've stayed at POR when it was dixie landings for our honey moon...so it always held some sentimental value....and it had been the only one we've stayed at for the past 10 years...going there every year sometimes if we're lucky twice...and well when the DVC cm added up what we 've spent over the past 10 years:eek: yeah..almost made me sick.....we've could have paid for our membership twice over....but it took us ...well I really should say me...my babe was all for it when we went down for our honeymoon......to me its worth checking it out...it free to take a tour.....but the rooms..are gorgeous....I love POR and if we want can still stay there, but its more point value .... yeah you know its sad when you know the CMS that have been therefor a while when you recognized them on each visit....or noticed where the planted new grass and such..yes sad but true!!! ....like i said its wrth a tour!!

DVC is Great we joined in 2003 (BCV) and we love it there.

But you can always go back to POR and use your points to stay there at some time. They have a chart that says how many points it takes to stay at a resort. I don't know if you will once you stay. We've stayed at BCV two years in a row now, and this year (Nov 28th can't wait:sohappy: ) to stay at the AKL, which my wife and I are looking forward to, but the kids are a little disapointed they want to go back to BCV. We told them next year.

So don't worry about missing the resort.

Congrats. We joined DVC in 1999 and have had many great times since. Most of which we would not have done without the DVC.

6 trips to WDW, 1 to Vero, 2 to Hilton Head, and my son honeymooned on Maui. We paid it off last year so now it's just annual dues and lots more great times.

We, too, had our honeymoon at Dixie Landing's (April, 1996). My wife fell in love with the place! During our honeymoon, she purchased several Dixie Landing's items and even wore a sweatshirt out!! She still wears it even though it has several holes in it!! If I recall, the cost, and I may be wrong, though I know I am very close, the cost per night was around $89, and now it is around $139. I can see how it would have paid to have gone through DVC by now. We are very fond of Magnolia Bend and those surroundings. What is/was your preference? Well, we'll be there in less than 3 days, I really think that at least I will check out the DVC folks and maybe I can get the wife to join in on the sales pitch. Thanks for your message!!

We stayed inthe alligator bayou section during our honeymoon and usualy that is where we request although the mansions are beautiful....funny thing is where our room was this time was directly across from the room we stayed on our honeymoon 10 years later. The nut that i am took a pic of the room door (hopefully nobody was looking). ohhh also do'nt know if anyone mentioned this but we also spotted an owl in one of the trees in the bayou section...which I thoughwas a little odd....and lots and lots of work was done on the grounds...new bushes, and such...those guys work !!!!

Dixiegirl,

Just wait until the first time you pull up to the security shack and they say "welcome home!"

It's the nicest feeling!

LOL..when we walked by one of the DVC booths my husband had said to one of the CMs "I know know the secret." and the CM said " Welcome Home " to us ..yeah I must say..I got a litle teary eyed....

Hi Dixiegirl - We're staying at Pop Century this time. We were just at POR in January and loved it!!!! I had to laugh at your signature - I too skipped 2001 as I was in labor. We are actually heading down to celebrate our 5 year old's birthday. Have a great time!
