Just booked, unexpected Florida trip, haven't told the kids!

We had an amazing holiday last August at the Polynesian, and thought that it would be our last trip to Florida for a few years, but we've just booked to go in a few weeks!

I know it will be very hot and very crowded, but we are limited to when we can go, so we'll just make the best of it.

I had a quick look online, and found some very reasonable flights with accommodation at the Sheraton Vistana Village Resort, so we decided to book. We haven't told our daughters, who are 17 and 13, but they will be so excited! We will tell them that we are going somewhere much nearer home, and then we thought that we would ask them to check the departures board at the airport and see what they say!

Years ago, when they were about 5 and 8, we surprised them with a trip to Disney and just told them on the day, but it will be harder now that they are older. Does anyone have any better ways to surprise them with this trip? We would like to tell them on the day that we fly, so we are open to ideas!

Oh how exciting! I like the idea of telling them at the airport that you'll be going elsewhere on vacation. I also like an idea I've heard of where you give your kids a very late or early holiday gift. So if you celebrate Crhsitmas for example, give them each a gift to reveal you'll be going to disney and say it came really late or that you found the gifts that you forgot while you were cleaning the house or something. And SURPRISE it's a Disney trip.

Have a great trip.

If you would like a cheap resort stay at one of the All Star Resorts, they are themed and fun, the kids will love it and Disney is one of the best place for the summer vacation..
