I wanted to make a post on my recent stay at WDW And go over how each part of the experience was. I’ll keep it short as possible. We arrived Monday the and had hotel reservations for three nights and four days of parks, MK, Epcot, HS and MK again (rainy day).
I used Genie + every single day which is horrible. I’m on vacation I don’t want to be up as the butt crack of dawn to complete with fellow guest to get a LL and pay to have to do it and still not be able to get a LL for what I really wanted. Trash appication designed to suck money out of you on top of the already higher prices. Its not a good value. I paid $60 x 4 = $240 extra added on to my trip that I did not have to pay just a couple years ago also with the added joy of being up early to even remotely benefit from it. But since I plan out the day the best I can, I used it and had high hopes. It didn’t seem like a good value.
Hotel: Pop Century. I did Not do mobile check in because I paid cash for the room but the check in process was smooth, quick and the staff at the counter were super helpful, even after check in on other things that I needed that I didn’t think was in their wheel house but they did for me none the less. My room was clean and smelled good, the property was clean. I stayed in bldg 4 so by the pool and the pool was lively and cheery. I did have one problem but it wasn’t the hotel or Disney’s fault and that was some one was smoking weed and it stunk up my room which throughly pi**ed me off. Like really?? You can’t wait for that and have to do that here???
Magic Kingdom: The park was clean and the cast members were all great. I didn’t book any sit down restaurant so we did snack tye stuff and quicker service. Cosmic Rays is where we ate our big meal and it was about as expected. Not great but not bad. I also caught someone smoking weed just after fireworks, which really ed me off, again, like here????????
Epcot: Park was great and the Garden Festival makes it such a beautiful place to be but it lacks food for my picky eating kids so we had a long day of not much to eat. Again U had no advance dining for this day for the Same reason, picky kids. I was able to use Genie + for Remy’s, which I a great ride and lots of fun. My little girl loves meeting all the princesses that come out as well. Nice day, just lacks food for picky kids.
Hollywood Studios: HS was a good day, we rode Star Tours, which has a new ending, I don’t remember Exegol on my last trip there. We got a LL for M&M RRR and Toy Story Mania. That night we ate in Disney Springs at The Edison which was good, but not like mind blowing. We watched the Indiana Jones show which I hadn’t seen in a very long time. Food at Pizzia Rizzo was the best quick service we had in all the parks.
All in all the trip was very good. I give high marks for the parks, the hotel and the cast members. Very low marks for Genie + and low marks for higher cost for less.
I compared this trip to my last long stay at Disney back in 2019 for Thanksgiving. It is not as good as back then for sure. The ability to schedule my fast passes and stuff back then was way better and I didn’t have to be up so dang early to fight with others to get a LL. The Dining plan I had back then was amazing. So back then I could book my sit down restaurants, my fast passes and use the dinning plan to pay for it compared to not having the dinning plan, and having to be up early to book LL the best I can and have the privilege to pay extra to do it, that makes me angry.
Future Plans: Our APs are up in Dec of this year, and with all these changes, we are going to let them go and pick up UOAP instead for a few reason. One being I don’t like the way WDW is headed and the value that has been taken away. Two UO is offering better value for money as of now and they are building a new park. We will still atrend the parks till Dec but not as offen. Seems like such a waste of money every month but it is what it is.
I hope this was helpful for anyone and if you have questions please ask.
Eidt: I wanted to add one more thing. As I waited for my food in places like cosmic rays, Pinocchio Village, and other quick service places, I watch the staff as they work. I would like to give them a shout out. It looks stressful and they performed fast and my food was correct every time.
