P.S: I hear M:S is as close a feeling to actual space launches as you can get without strapping a rocket to your butt.

Ouch, I bet that would be rather painful. Besides it would probably burn my butt, and I wouldn't be able to sit down. :hammer:

I'll give in to that, Imagineers are not doctors. I still say that the chance of MS being miscalculated are less than me being ruler of the world......
Imagineers aren't, but they certainly have access to doctors. I'm sure they knew full and well that this was not going to be an attraction for anyone--most of Disney's thrill rides are not for everyone, but unfortunately for this ride, people have never been on anything like it so they can't gauge whether or not they should ride or not--thus people get sick. Most people know whether or not they can handle roller coasters or log rides, but not a centrifuge.

You may be on to something re: the hype. When we went in late 2004, I purposely stayed away from any "spoilers" of MS. I expected to wait in an obscene line, etc. However, when we arrived at Epcot, we took a few minutes to get our pic with Holiday Mickey and then headed over to MS. To our surprise, we literally walked onto the ride. There was no time to read through and contemplate the warnings, or to get hung up on the extreme nature of the ride. After riding, I did not feel any ill effects, but did have a great adrenaline rush! Maybe the lack of hype had something to do with it; maybe not.
