Thomas Jefferson gave us his opinion on the subject when he said, "I consider trial by jury as the ONLY anchor yet imagined by man by which a government can be held to the principles of its constitution." (emphasis added).

In most states, they also use drivers license information as well as voter registration lists to compile the list of potential jurors.

It's intereesting how major "life change" triggers a jury duty sopena. When we bought our house, less than a year later, I was called for Grand Jury - 16 weeks, 1 day per week. I wasn't selected however.
