Jungle Cruise

I recall it being busy for at least 10+ years. Something we tried to get on as early as possible due to it....

Just a little side story related to Jungle Cruise. My family always spends multiple days in MK and so on a trip in 2014, we found ourselves rope dropping Adventureland on one of our MK days. We first walked right onto Magic Carpets and were the only riders. Then we walked onto Jungle Cruise and had our own boat. Then walked onto Pirates and shared a boat with one other family. We really loved that morning and it was such a magical moment to pretty much have Adventureland all to ourselves. In January 2020, we decided to recreate that morning. We rope dropped Magic Carpets again and the CM actually let us ride twice without getting off. We then went to Jungle Cruise and walked right on, sharing our boat with one other family. Then went over to Pirates and again walked on but we did have a few families in our boat. It appeared no one else really rope dropped Adventureland since most people seemed to head first to the mountains.
This past February, I did my first solo trip and after hitting up Space during early entry, I made my way over to Adventureland to make Jungle Cruise my 2nd stop of the day. I got to the bridge at about 8:50, ten minutes prior to that lands opening. There was a sizable crowd in front of me but I assumed most would be heading to Big Thunder or Splash. I was wrong though and most of the crowd went to JC. I could navigate fairly quickly being alone and not having kids and/or strollers and yet, I still waited 25 minutes to board a boat. Not bad for JC but like the OP, I was definitely surprised with the sudden increase in popularity. I assumed it was mostly due to the new movie 🤷🏻‍♀️ It seems my days of a crowd free Adventureland have come to an end.

I think it has to do with more people in the parks in general as well. Everything is crowded because there is so many people and very few options. Outside of that JC is nostalgic, even though its not the disneyland one that was touched by walt... its still a walt ride. So every book, tv show about disney parks since 1955 has had a jungle cruise picture or clip. So if youre a first time guest you want to ride it, and if you arent it still has nostalgic value. For me pirates, HM and JC are all must rides just due to memories from my childhood.

Its always been popular.. theres just more people now

It's not one I'd wait a long time for. I mean, it's ok, but it's not a great ride. Last time we went though, I was wearing an anniversary celebration pin and they let us go to the front of the line. That was a treat!

The jungle cruise was always a busy ride - I can see why. Like A small world, it offers a quiet respite to the craziness of a full park. I remember my prior trips, it typically had 40+ minute waits. I think genie+ has only exacerbated this since people don't want to waste that paid option on that ride
