Jungle Cruise Survey

I forgot to bring this up earlier, but on my day at MK last week I was asked to take part in a survey following the Jungle Cruise. I did it thinking it would be a general Disney one, but then found out all the questions related to the JC. They included what I thought of the ride, would I reccomend it, how was the staff and what would my rating out of ten be.

Does Disney do this for specific attractions regularily, or is something going on (or might be) with the ride? If this is not really "news" then I'm sorry for posting it in this section.

I know Disneyland was asking guests about Tomorrowland; what they thought about the land in general, the attractions. I THINK they asked which rides they wouldn't mind staying and which they wouldn't mind leaving. Disney does this occasionally.

I wonder if this has something to do with the JC movie? I've been surveyed around the world plenty of times, and asked similar questions, but don't recall ever being asked about a specific attraction. Only about my experiences in the park and resort hotel.

I work at the Jungle Cruise at WDW and have noticed the survey cast members out at the exit to the attraction and wondered what they survey was about. Interesting...

There have been refurb rumors for a while, and recently the far fetched rumor that was out there was an actual expansion to the ride. Did any of the questions seem to relate to either item?

I saw that rumor on OTPN and had been meaning to bring it up here. They said something about it being expanded around the Swiss Treehouse I believe.

The Plaza Swan Boats used to circle the Treehouse before returning to the hub so it's feasible to steer the JC boats around it. My question is "Why?"
Even if they expanded the JC around the Treehouse, would that be enough space to add any AA animals, headhunters etc.? Most of the moat is visible from the walkway so the general public could see any potential surprise elements that they could add there.
In order to make this practical, they would have to add a lot more waterway than this simple loop.

My 'bus driver' whispered to me that there are plans to expand the JC in the Treehouse area, while taking away some of its space next to Pirates. To make room for a pathway between PotC and the JC for a new attraction there.
Well that could be intriguing. As long as your "Bus Driver" didn't tell you about King Louie's triumphant return to the Cruise ;), it might be something to lookout for.

Interesting. I remember the Swans going through that area. I need to see a aerial map, can't visualize the square footage of of the Treehouse or land around JC & PotC. I could see Disney expanding JC just to add in elements from the movie. Oy. I'm sick of that practice. And the survey said guests want it. Just once I would like to see that data.

The JC is the only ride at MK I don't mind skipping! I think it's so cheesy and If i want to go on an animal cruise I'd rather see it a DAK. I do like the "bus driver rumor" of a possible new attraction, so if they have to refurb JC it'll b ok, but I think we'd still skip it...

Attractions surveys seems to be pretty standard. When I was leaving Mermaid last year a survey person asked me similar questions and held up cards from 1 to 10 with a range of expressions to give my opinion of the show. I don't think I was targeted for any particiular person and I remeber like 10 of them being there to grab guests after the show asking the same things.

I know there has been a lot of talk about the need to redo/refurb tomorrowland, but in my opinion, adventureland needs the most love. Lets face it, its not the adventureland of 20 years ago, there is no adventure. The Jungle Cruise is a classic and I understand people adoration for it, however, the potential to improve this area is vast. They have a great deal of land in this area, and an allready great theme. I would love a total revamp of Adventureland, even if it means changing/doing away with the Jungle Cruise.

Well now! I just want to pinch you! ;) Doing away with my beloved JC? I might just turn into one of those Toad fans if that were to happen.

Yet I do believe with this millenniums animatronics, much more can be done. CM's also need to have some creative licence to change the dialog up a bit to put some mystery into the attraction and keep the guests more engaged. Much like the GMR at DHS, you can only see hear the same monolog so many times before ya get restless.

i like where you are going with this, PotC is there for good, as it should be, but i think adventureland has the ability to host the likes of indiana jones, tarzan, junglebook and other disney staples with fun attractions and "adventures". outside of pirates there really isnt much adventure anymore. and for me i would love to drop the alladin ride, dumbo should be the only "go in a circle" ride in all of disney.

its like i said about epcot in another thread, i think that the parks and most of the attractions and rides have peaked in respect to cutting edge amazement. its almost as if a renaissance is needed to make a new benchmark for the parks. things like space mountain, the jungle cruise, even test track were built in a time where they were the future and staple of theme park attractions. disney needs to recapture that, it s generational thing and it just so happens that this generation has succedded the delieverables of the current park attractions and rides. Disney has the ability to set a new bar, a benchmark of greatness, and should start with things like adventureland.
