I guess the extensive refurb isn't going to happen now. But two weeks is better than one.

When they do the extensives, they have usually done a 'pre' refurb a little bit before the major one.

It sounds like it will be closed thru the 24th, reopening on the 25th? I'm wondering because we arrive on the 23rd, and are planning to be at MK on the 24th. We can go back later the next week if it doesn't reopen till Sunday 5-25-08, but it would be nice to ride after its been tuned up!

Yes, it is closed until the 24th, meaning it will reopen the 25th. =)

Oh good!
Jungle Cruise has been one of my favorite rides since I was a kid, but lately it's been a little worn down.
It even closes after my next trip! Which means I'll get to have a before-after sorta deal with it.

Think they are repairing the backside of water effect. Saw a few holes in it last time and it didn't look as wet as normal.

What I heard is they're gonna overlay a few characters to spice it up a bit. They're gonna replace the rhino driving the guys up the pole with Stitch and something something about the temple canal now being Monsters Inc. themed

You joke, but there were 'somewhat' serious rumors about inserting Timon and Pumba about this time last year.
Personally, I like the idea IF they simply inserted a "real" warthog and meerkat next to one another in a scene, and let the skippers make their own jokes about the association to Lion King. I think that would be the perfect opportunity for some self-deprecating humor on Disney's part.

Hmm probably the refurb is to do just a paint job... doesn't look like they can do anything big with such a short time..

Pixtar is awful.
Pixar is amazing though

I thought I notice something missing... I just thought it was Holy Water..:lookaroun ( I know that was corny!) The water fall really needs a refurb..its just too shabby....I think I saw chicken wire showing in the falling water... I heard they were going to have an image of davy jones appear on the waterfall... or project the tiki gods! ...Maybe add a touch screen on the boats..and you get to choose your past life and it will be project on the fall! lol:ROFLOL:
